What does Memphis Tours' Egypt solar eclipse tour include, and why is the Egypt solar eclipse 2027 the most extraordinary astronomical event of the century?

On 2 August 2027, the total solar eclipse passes directly over Luxor — producing up to 6 minutes and 22 seconds of totality, the longest eclipse anywhere on earth in over 400 years. This nine-day tour is structured as follows:

Cairo · Pyramids · GEM The tour opens in Cairo with Egyptologist guide visits to the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, and the Grand Egyptian Museum — the world's largest collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts including Tutankhamun's complete golden treasures.

Luxor · Eclipse 2 Aug 2027 In Luxor, guided tours cover Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, and the Colossi of Memnon. On 2 August 2027, the eclipse is witnessed at Karnak Temple — the largest ancient religious complex ever built — as the moon's shadow falls across 5,000-year-old columns for up to 6 minutes and 22 seconds of complete totality.

Aswan · Abu Simbel · Nile Cruise In Aswan, guided visits include Philae Temple and an excursion to the UNESCO twin temples of Abu Simbel — built by Ramesses II and Nefertari. A four-night Nile cruise from Aswan sails north through Kom Ombo and Edfu before returning to Cairo.

Cairo · NMEC · Old Cairo · Citadel Back in Cairo, the itinerary includes the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization — housing the Royal Mummies Hall — a guided walk through Old Cairo's Coptic and Islamic heritage, and the Salah El-Din Citadel with its Alabaster Mosque and panoramic city views. All Egyptologist guides, domestic flights, hotel accommodation, full-board cruise cabin, and all entrance fees are included in this complete Egypt solar eclipse 2027 tour package.

Early Morning on 4:00 AM your tour manager will pick you up from your hotel to board a modern air-conditioned coach for a trip to the spectacular Temples of Abu Simbel with a small group. Constructed by Ramses II, the two Temples of Abu Simbel, with their unique style, are considered to be the masterpieces of ancient Egypt. They reflect the glory and grandeur of the New Kingdom.
The Egyptian government and UNESCO decided to co-operate in order to save these two temples from the flood that threatened to submerge them because of the Aswan Dam.
The Temples of Abu Simbel are dedicated to the four universal gods Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re, and to Ramses II himself. The great Temple of Ramsses II is also called the Sun Temple of Ramesses II. The Temple of Queen Nefertari is also called the Temple of Hathor who was the wife of the Sun God, so in a symbolic way, the two Temples, that of Ramsses II and that of Nefertari bring Ramesses II, Nefertari, Hathor, and the Sun God together.
