Arrive at Cairo International Airport, where your Memphis Tours representative meets you inside the terminal, assists with passport control and baggage, and escorts you to your air-conditioned vehicle.
Transfer to your hotel, where your representative reviews the week ahead with you — the three Cairo days, the flight to Amman, and the two Jordan touring days that follow. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
Overnight in: Cairo – Le Riad de Charme (Diamond) or Hilton Pyramids Golf Hotel (Golden)
Signature Experience: Arrival assistance and a full briefing on a seven-day, two-country itinerary
Good to Know: Your Cairo–Amman flight on Day 4 is not included in the package price. Memphis Tours can book it for you around your confirmed itinerary — ask at the time of booking so your Amman airport transfer matches the flight.
After breakfast, meet your Egyptologist and begin at the Giza Plateau. Explore the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx and the Valley Temple, with time at the panoramic viewpoint for photographs across all three pyramids.
Continue for lunch at a local Egyptian restaurant, followed by Saqqara, home to the Step Pyramid of King Djoser and the earliest monumental stone architecture in Egypt. Return to your hotel.
Overnight in: Cairo – Le Riad de Charme (Diamond) or Hilton Pyramids Golf Hotel (Golden)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Visits: Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, Valley Temple, Saqqara, Step Pyramid of Djoser
Signature Experience: Two pyramid sites in one day — Giza and the older step pyramid that made it possible
Optional Premium Experience: Interior entry to the Great Pyramid can be arranged at additional cost.
Good to Know: Expect around 2–3 km of walking on uneven, sandy ground across both sites. Bring a hat, sunglasses and closed shoes. Dinner this evening is not included.
A full morning and afternoon at the Grand Egyptian Museum, where the complete treasures of Tutankhamun are displayed together for the first time since their discovery, alongside collections spanning five thousand years.
Your Egyptologist takes you through the galleries at a pace that lets the collection make sense, with lunch at a local Egyptian restaurant. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Overnight in: Cairo – Le Riad de Charme (Diamond) or Hilton Pyramids Golf Hotel (Golden)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Visits: Grand Egyptian Museum
Signature Experience: A full day at the Grand Egyptian Museum with your own Egyptologist, seen after standing at the pyramids themselves
Good to Know: The museum involves extended walking on level indoor surfaces. Dinner this evening is not included.
Enjoy breakfast and a relaxed morning before your transfer to Cairo International Airport, where you are assisted through check-in for your flight to Jordan.
On arrival at Queen Alia International Airport you are met and driven to your Amman hotel, your base for the next three nights. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
Overnight in: Amman – Grand Hyatt Amman (Diamond) or Corp Amman Hotel (Golden)
Meals: Breakfast
Signature Experience: Two countries in one week, with no repacking in Jordan — one hotel for all three nights
Good to Know: The Cairo–Amman flight is not included in your package price. Memphis Tours will help you select and book a suitable flight, and your Amman arrival transfer is confirmed against it before your final documents are issued. Jordan entry visa is not included. Lunch and dinner are not included today.
Head out with your English-speaking driver to Mount Nebo, the ridge from which Moses is said to have looked out over the Promised Land — on a clear day you can see across the Jordan Valley to the hills beyond.
Continue to Madaba and St George's Church, where a sixth-century mosaic floor map of the Holy Land survives in remarkable detail. After lunch, descend to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, to float in water so dense you cannot sink, and try the mineral mud along the shore.
Overnight in: Amman – Grand Hyatt Amman (Diamond) or Corp Amman Hotel (Golden)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Visits: Mount Nebo, St George's Church and the Madaba mosaic map, Dead Sea
Signature Experience: Floating in the Dead Sea at the lowest point on the earth's surface
Good to Know: Today is driver-led rather than guided; site information is available on arrival. Dead Sea practicalities: don't shave within 24 hours beforehand, keep your head above water, don't get the water in your eyes, and rinse thoroughly in fresh water afterward. The salt is hard on swimwear and jewellery. Bring sandals — the shore is stony.
An early start for the drive south to Petra, around two and a half hours each way through the Jordanian highlands.
At the site, walk down to the entrance and through the Siq — a gorge over a kilometre long, its walls rising sheer on both sides — until it opens without warning onto the Treasury facade carved into the rock. With your local Petra guide you explore the Nabataean tombs and facades of the city centre before walking back out through the Siq.
Overnight in: Amman – Grand Hyatt Amman (Diamond) or Corp Amman Hotel (Golden)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Visits: Petra — the Siq, the Treasury, Nabataean facades and tombs
Signature Experience: The first sight of the Treasury as the Siq opens out — the moment Petra is famous for
Optional Premium Experience: Short horseback rides between the visitor centre and the Siq entrance are available at the site, subject to availability, and are entirely optional. The same stretch is an easy walk on level ground.
Good to Know: This is the most demanding day of the itinerary. Around 700 m from the entrance to the Siq, then roughly 1.2 km through the gorge, and the same distance back — a minimum of 4 km on foot, on uneven stone, with around five hours of driving. Wear proper walking shoes and carry water. In summer, Petra is very hot with little shade; start early and pace yourself. Guests with limited mobility should discuss options with us before booking.
Enjoy breakfast and a final morning in Amman. Depending on your flight time, luggage storage can be arranged at the hotel should you wish a last look at the city.
Your vehicle and representative collect you at the appointed time and transfer you to Queen Alia International Airport, where you are assisted through check-in for your onward flight.
Meals: Breakfast
Signature Experience: Departure assistance at Queen Alia International Airport
Good to Know: Standard check-out is 12:00. Late check-out is subject to availability and a supplement. Lunch and dinner are not included today.
