The Iberotel Crown Empress Nile Cruise is a 5-star deluxe vessel that sails between Luxor and Aswan, with a 5-day itinerary departing Luxor every Monday and a 4-day itinerary departing Aswan every Friday. It's a comfortable way to see the best of ancient Egypt while enjoying the calm of the Nile between visits.

On board, main and upper deck cabins feature large panoramic sliding windows, and 8 suites have a private balcony. Every cabin is non-smoking and comes with individually controlled air conditioning, a private bathroom with bathtub and hair dryer, a TV, a minibar and room service. When you're not sightseeing, you can relax on the large sun deck, cool off in the swimming pool or keep active in the gym. Laundry service and a doctor on call are also available.

Your sightseeing covers Egypt's most celebrated temples. Explore Karnak and Luxor Temple, descend into the royal tombs of the Valley of the Kings, and visit Hatshepsut Temple and the Colossi of Memnon. Further south, ride a horse-drawn carriage to Edfu's Temple of Horus, walk from the riverbank to Kom Ombo, and cross by motorboat to Philae Temple.

Memphis Tours has been planning journeys in Egypt since 1955 as a Category A licensed operator. We meet you on arrival, handle all transfers, and provide an Egyptologist guide at every site. Enjoy the morning in Aswan, or make the most of your time with a highly recommended optional excursion to Abu Simbel by Road: Travel south across the desert to the monumental temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari, one of southern Egypt’s most remarkable archaeological experiences. The journey takes approximately 3½ hours each way, with time to explore both rock-cut temples before returning to Aswan.

Back on board, enjoy lunch before Iberotel Crown Empress Nile Cruise begins sailing north. Later, step ashore at Kom Ombo to visit the distinctive riverside temple dedicated to Sobek and Haroeris. Return to the cruise and continue sailing toward Edfu, with dinner served on board.

Note: The Abu Simbel excursion requires an early-morning departure and is recommended to be booked in advance.

Begin the day with a visit to Edfu Temple, dedicated to Horus and one of Egypt’s best-preserved ancient temples. The temple is normally reached from the docking area by traditional horse-drawn carriage. Return to Iberotel Crown Empress Nile Cruise and continue sailing north toward Luxor, enjoying time on board as the Nile scenery passes by.

Later, explore Luxor’s East Bank, beginning at the vast temple complex of Karnak before continuing to Luxor Temple. Return to the cruise for dinner and your final night on board.

Overnight: On board in Luxor

Walking: Moderate to active, with extensive walking at Karnak and uneven archaeological surfaces.

After breakfast and disembarkation, explore Luxor’s West Bank, beginning with the legendary Valley of the Kings, the royal burial ground of Egypt’s New Kingdom pharaohs, where richly decorated tombs were carved deep into the desert cliffs more than 3,000 years ago.

Continue to the impressive Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, dramatically set against the surrounding limestone cliffs, before stopping at the monumental Colossi of Memnon, the two massive seated statues that once guarded the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III.

After sightseeing, your Memphis Tours representative will transfer you directly to Luxor International Airport or the railway station according to your onward travel arrangements.

Meals: Breakfast

Visits: Valley of the Kings, Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Colossi of Memnon

Walking: Moderate to active, with uneven ground, steps and some inclines around the tombs and temple.

Welcome to Luxor. Your Memphis Tours representative greets you at Luxor Airport or the train station, helps with your arrival and takes you to the Iberotel Crown Empress Nile Cruise to board.

After lunch on board, your journey into ancient Egypt begins on Luxor's East Bank. Step into Karnak Temple, one of the largest religious complexes ever built, and pass through its towering gateways and open courtyards to the famous Hypostyle Hall, a forest of giant stone columns. Then continue to Luxor Temple, which stands right in the heart of the modern city.
Head back to the ship for dinner and your first peaceful evening on the Nile.

Overnight: Docked in Luxor

Meals: Lunch, dinner

Visits: Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple

Walking: Moderate walking on uneven ancient ground, especially at Karnak.

Good to know: Much of Karnak has little shade, so bring comfortable shoes, bottled water and sun protection.

After breakfast, cross to Luxor's West Bank with your Egyptologist guide for one of the most memorable mornings of the cruise.

Descend into the Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs were laid to rest in beautifully painted tombs cut deep into the desert hills. Next, visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, whose terraces rise against the cliffs in a design unlike any other in Egypt. Your last stop is the Colossi of Memnon, two giant seated statues that have watched over the plain for more than 3,000 years.

Return to the Iberotel Crown Empress Nile Cruise for lunch as the ship sets sail south toward Esna and Edfu. The afternoon is yours to slow down: relax on the sun deck, enjoy afternoon tea and watch village life and green fields drift past along the riverbanks.

Overnight: On board the Iberotel Crown Empress Nile Cruise

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Visits: Valley of the Kings, Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Colossi of Memnon

Walking: One of the more active mornings, with uneven ground, steps and slopes in and around some tombs.

Good to know: The standard Valley of the Kings ticket covers selected regular tombs. Tutankhamun's Tomb and other special tombs need separate tickets.

After breakfast, head ashore in Edfu for the Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. The ride from the dock to the temple is by traditional horse-drawn carriage, with the fare included.

With its massive entrance towers, roofed halls and granite falcon statues, Edfu gives you a rare, almost complete picture of what a Ptolemaic temple looked like. Back on board, lunch is served as the ship continues south toward Kom Ombo.

Later in the day, visit Kom Ombo Temple. Unlike Edfu, it sits right on the riverbank, just a short walk from the dock. The temple is unusual because it's split into two matching halves, one for Sobek, the crocodile god, and one for Haroeris. Return to the ship as it sails on toward Aswan.

Overnight: Docked in Aswan

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Visits: Edfu Temple, Kom Ombo Temple

Good to know: Edfu Temple is inland and reached by the included horse-drawn carriage, while Kom Ombo Temple is on the riverbank and reached on foot from the dock. A small tip for your carriage driver is appreciated.

After breakfast on board in Aswan, set out with your Egyptologist guide. Your first stop is the ancient granite quarries, home to the Unfinished Obelisk. Left where it cracked thousands of years ago, it shows exactly how ancient stonemasons cut and shaped these giant monuments.

Next, board the included motorboat to Agilkia Island and the Temple of Philae, dedicated mainly to the goddess Isis. During the international campaign to save Nubia's monuments from rising waters, the entire temple was taken apart and rebuilt, stone by stone, on higher ground.

Return to the Iberotel Crown Empress Nile Cruise for lunch and enjoy a slower afternoon in Aswan. Depending on the confirmed program, optional experiences can be arranged during your stay.

Overnight: Docked in Aswan

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Visits: Unfinished Obelisk, Philae Temple

Good to know: The motorboat to Philae is included. The ride is open-air, so bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen, especially in the warmer months.

Enjoy a final breakfast on board, then check out of your cabin by around 8:00 AM. Your luggage will be handled according to your onward travel plans.

Your Memphis Tours representative will help you disembark and transfer you to Aswan Airport or the train station to continue your journey.

If you'd like to see Abu Simbel and it doesn't fit into your confirmed cruise schedule, it can be arranged by adding an extra night in Aswan before or after the cruise.

Meals: Breakfast

Disembarkation: Cabins must be vacated by around 8:00 AM. Your departure transfer follows according to your confirmed travel plans.

Good to know: Leave enough time between disembarkation and your flight or train. Always check Abu Simbel timings against your confirmed sailing and departure schedule.
