Itinerary
Discover the greatness of the ancient Pharaohs by visiting their legendary temples in Luxor. Start your tour moving from your hotel in Cairo in the early morning towards Cairo Airport taking the flight towards Luxor. Upon arrival at Luxor, you will be met, by our representative, then have a blissful day tour kicking off at Karnak Temple; the greatest example of worship in history, dedicated to the God Amon, his wife Mut, and their son Khonsu.
Then pay a visit to the Valley of The Kings, which contains the masterpieces of ancient Egyptian tombs. Then move on to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the only pharaonic woman who reigned ancient Egypt. Moreover, lunch is going to be served during your trip. In the evening, you will be driven to Luxor airport & back to Cairo.
NB: Your tour will end around 4:00 PM and your flight back to Cairo is at 10:00 PM. To fill the time before your flight, we will book you a hotel room free of charge where you can relax. If you would rather fill the time with additional activities your guide will be happy to make it happen for an extra cost.

excellent service with knowledgeable and non pushy guide

i took a day tour from cairo to luxor for our family of four (my son 10 and daughter 18). it sounds a lot and it is but is doable. the trip starts with being picked up from your hotel at 5 am. the trip to the airport from a downtown hotel at this hr last 30-35 min. the tour people help you get your boarding pass ( we got passes for both ways at this time ) and you go to the gates. the flight takes 1 hr approx . you are received at the gate by people carrying the memphis tour placards and you are taken to a comfortable relatively new van. we picked up our guide on the way and drove to valley of the kings ( at present 65 tombs of the middle and new kingdom pharoes have been found. they rotate the tombs that can be seen keeping about 11 open at a time. ) we saw 3 as suggested by our guide. great wall hieroglyphics
we went to the temple of hatsheput next. a real great site and the setting on the base of the cliffs is a site worth seeing. even in winter the open space was warm so in the summer this must be an oven!.
we drove to a shop with memphis tour connections but were not pressured and did not buy anything.
we went to lunch at a preset egyptian meal in restaurant called king tut which served all memphis tour meals. the food was average.
we visited karnak temple and luxor temple next. i cannot say say enough about how great they are. the sites are well maintained and you can truely feel how great these times were almost 4500 yrs ago.
since we had tome till our flight at 10.30 pm we went to the market place (souk) we bought some silver jewelry and then had dinner at a indian restaurant (average food ).
at this hour (8 pm) the luxor airport is dead with all shops being closed. the trip back was uneventful with again traffic being better at this hr.
a few tips about an egypt trip.
1. it is safe. we walked about and even walked about on tahir square. no issues.
2. bakshish or asking for tips is rampant and very disturbing after a while.
3. traffic is horrible in cairo . avoid 8-10 am and 4-6 pm as much as possible. luxor is bigger than i thought. from the airport to the valley of the kings is about 30 min.
4. i used the cheapest black and white cabs frequently. they were everywhere, cheap and with my fingers i was able to signal the price i would pay with no problems.
5. again visting egypt is a treat with great sites and friendly people. it is safe and at present with no crowds

我們一行6人因為要去Cairo參加婚禮, 因此決定多請幾天假提前遊埃及. 起初我的朋友透過埃及友人介紹的當地tour agent 連繫了一兩個禮拜, 那agent 在尼羅河遊船的行程還說得不清不楚, 倒是給價錢給得很快. 某天下午透過Tripadvior 我發現Memphis tour有很高的評價, 因此嚐試線上live chat 詢價. Mustafa Ahmed 簡直就是個魔法師, 2個小時之內搞定每個人想要的行程跟機票, 還給了一個非常合理的價格, 比起先前agent 給的平均一人就節省了200多美金.
不要以為便宜沒好貨, 更驚喜的還在後頭!

Actually we went Cairo for a wedding, not for sightseeing. Since it gonna be a 20 hours trip to fly over Cairo, we decided to spend more time in the Egypt. Our group is a 6-people group, two of us can speak very limited English. At beginning, one of our members spent weeks to email local agent yet the schedule that agent sent us seemed a bit strange; it was different from description of MovenPick's website. As I learnt from Tripadvisor Memphis tour has a word of mouth, I deceided to talk to their operator directly.
It seemed likely that there was a magic wand in operater Mustafa Ahmed's hand; he spent less than 2 hous to arrange tickets, crusie, packages tour...etc. The point is, the price he offered is very reasonable.
The first day we joined a tour that local friend arragened for us, that one was so-so.
The next day we flew to Luxor and met our guide, who now we think he is a "God of guide", Alaa El Sawy. As I mentioned above, two in our group speak very limited English plus the couple from the US joined us, I was a bit worried about my husband and aunty whether they can catch stories.
Alaa speaks perfect English actaully. But he chose very simple and easy ways to explain Gods, stories, myths and history, also made everyone to participate while he was telling myths; plus Nile cruise by MovenPick was great! we all had great time with Alaa. By the end of cruise the US couple didn't want to leave us and we all wished Alaa stayed with us.
By the way, as this country is famous for its essential oil; if you would like to buy essentail oil, buy it in Aswan. I got a TERRIBLE price in a famous shop in Cairo!!!! the price difference is enough to pay a Cairo-Luxor-Cairo flight ticket!!! T____T

From the first email to the last goodbyes, this was an experience our family will never forget. As an American family with 3 small and adventurous boys, we were warned and sometimes hesitant about taking this trip. I am so pleased that we went ahead as we had an amazing experience. Memphis Tours were polite, professional and hard working. Always keeping us informed of plans and options, they were extremely helpful and friendly with the boys and we felt safe and treated with respect at all times. Our tour guide Medhat was a gem. We were easily able to communicate our wishes and make changes to plans at any time. We have made a new friend and hope to visit again! I highly recommend a visit to Egypt with Memphis Tours and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or travel with them again.

Memphis tours organsised our recent trip to Cairo / Giza and Luxor. They took great care of us as soon as we landed in the airport. Amr Hassan was at the airport to pick us up and drop us at the hotel. We stayed in Mena House , excellent location especially if you want to see the pyramids 24/7 !!!
Mahmoud was our tour guide in cairo and he did an excellent job in explaining all the historic sites. He had the knack to keep us away from the hawkers . Takes great photos as well !!!
Shimaa Baheeg was equally good when we were in Luxor. She took us to a wonderful lunch at Luxor which was part of the deal when you book a tour with Memphis.
We would highly recommend Memphis tours . Try and combine 2 half day trips as it may work out cheaper that way.
We found the Giza light and sound show expensive when we booked through Memphis . Otheer than that they were quite reasonably priced

We chose Memphis Tours for both the above tours. We are a family of four, my wife and our two teenage daughters. On both occasions we were very well catered for and looked after by our respective drivers and the Tour staff. The lady guide at Luxor, Nadia Said was very friendly and knowledgeable. At Cairo Giza we were lucky enough to have a very pleasant and amiable young man called Amir, even though he was suffering from a severe ear infection he never let his guard down or his professionalism wane. I hired Memphis Tours for a 2 days tour in Cairo and 1 day tour in Luxor, the two guides Ahmed Mohammed Kamel and Shaimaa Baheeg are the best. They know all facts of the history of Egypt they are very knowledgeble and they answer all my questions. The pick up times at my hotels were on time, and did not waste any time visiting sites. I really had a great time in Egypt and I mentioned to them that I will visit them again and hire Memphis Tours. I really recommend this tour company if you want to visit Egypt and learn what this beautiful country has to offer.

We did a day trip to Luxor from Cairo in January 2013. We were picked up at our hotel in Cairo very early and taken to the airport by Ahmed El Sayed, Guest Relations, and a driver. We were flying home very early the next morning and not returning to the airport so they kindly kept all our luggage while we traveled to Luxor for the day. Ahmed was extremely professional and exceeded all our expectations and needs. The flights to and from Luxor were easy and uneventful (about an hour each). We were met in Luxor by another MT employee who, with the driver, took us to meet our tour guide, Imam. Imam (female) was informative and knew much about Valley of the Kings, Hatsheput's Tomb, Carnak and Luxor Temples, the sites we were to see. We learned much and thoroughly enjoyed our day. Imam is well informed but not extremely warm and friendly. Ahmed was a delight.

We booked 2 trips with Memphis, i.e. to Petra and Luxor. Both trips were well organized and gave what they promised. Both the accompanying guides new their trade and were interesting to listen to.

What an amazing trip

We're back home from our amazing trip to Egypt. We booked our four day tour to Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simble with Memphis Tours and I must say they were absolutely great. We booked everything online with Marwa A. [email protected]. The communication back and forth via email and the prompt response of each was on the money. All our questions were answered completely and all transactions confirmed in a timely fashion. We thought it would be difficult to plan a trip like this via email but everything was so easy to do. The tour guides who picked us up at the hotel for the day's tour were always punctual. Thank you Mahmoud Boghaday a.k.a Ruby and Nabil Reda Ibrahim, you guys were awesome. Ruby, you made us feel like family. We had a great time as we took the very long drive from Luxor to Aswan. We laughed and talked the whole ride through without a dull minute in between. Nabil, our Egyptologist was incredible. His passion and knowledge of historical Egypt was unreal. We were travelling around Cairo before heading to Luxor for a day tour to The Valley of the Kings. We were lucky enough to be placed with an amazing tour guide, Shaimaa Baheeg. She was full of useful information, a sense of humour, and kept us safe. She made the tour very enjoyable and informative. I would highly recommend using Memphis Tours and if possible, ask for her as your guide. You won't regret it!

I visited Egypt with my family by the end of Jan. 2012. We usually travel on our own, but due to political situation in Egypt, I decided to get in contact to a local agency. From the first time I felt Memphis Tours was the right choise. Ahmed Fayez in charge of prearrangements of our travel could not be better. He was under every detail and gave us confidence and good advise upon every matter related to our trip. We want to thank the ground staff , specially Mohamed Besheer who was always willing to satisfy us and gave us a cell phone to call him if we need something or had any trouble, our guide Ayman in Cairo, Memphis and Alexandria, who was very kind and professional, our guide in Luxor who was happy and proud about the future of his country and our driver Kamel, who without speaking a word in English or Spanish, was kind, polite and said good bye with a bunch of flowers for my wife. As a conclusion, Egypt is a wonderful country with uncountable things to be visited, but it is not easy at all. I do really recommend Memphis Tours if you wish to spend an unforgettable time in Egypt. I would choose them again.

We highly recommend Memphis Tours.The service was excellent: Yosri, the company representative, waited for us at the train station; we have right away been transfered to a private car and a private guide. The guide was also well prepared, speaking English fluently. She took the time to show us all important places and to answer to our questions. The lunch was included in the price, as well as other refreshments. Too bad that we only had one day to spend in Luxor! Even so, the tour was very well organized so as to offer us the opportunity of sightseeing the most important places.

I elected to take the day trip from Cairo to Luxor to see some of the main sites Luxor has to offer - Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut's temple, and the temple at Karnak, among others. The entire tour experience was great. We were picked up very early from our hotel in Cairo and taken to the airport to catch our flight to Luxor. A travel agent representative met us there and took us to meet our guide, Shaimaa, who was helpful and provided good information during the day at all the sites we visited. She even carried my large bottle of water when I started to get tired in the afternoon! In addition to the sites scheduled on the tour, we also stopped at an alabaster shop (obviously connected to the tour, but still got very nice pieces for a reasonable price) and a tasty buffet for lunch, which was covered by the tour price (minus drinks). Since our tour ended about 4 hours before our plane left that evening, Memphis Tours arranged for us to spend a few hours in a hotel in Luxor at no expense to us, giving us a chance to take a shower, take a nap, or just cool down in the air conditioned building. We were then taken back to the airport and flew back to Cairo.
I highly recommend this tour. Our driver and guide were both exceedingly professional and helpful. Shaimaa was able to give us lots of information on everything we saw, as well as details about Luxor and its heyday.

I booked a 4 night stay in Cairo for my girlfriend and I in Feb 2010 and decided to book transfers in advance. I found Memphis Tours on the internet and their reviews sounded good. I booked online and we were met at the airport by our tour rep Ahmed Elsaid and a driver. Ahmed was extremely friendly and pointed out various sights on our way to the hotel. He helped us with our bags and gave us a number to call if we needed anything else. The next day we called Ahmed and arranged a full day tour of the Great Pyramids, Giza and Saqqara. We were given our own tour guide and private mini-bus and we found the tour to be very informative and reasonablly priced. I would definately recommend Memphis Tours and are already planning a return trip to Luxor with Memphis Tours! Thanks Ahmed and everyone at memphis Tours!!
