After breakfast, you'll dive straight into ancient Egypt with your private Egyptologist guide. First stop is the Giza Plateau, home to the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus — the last of the ancient world's seven wonders still standing. Nearby you'll see the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple. After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll visit the Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest museum in the world devoted to a single civilisation, where you can admire treasures from across Egyptian history, including the complete collection from King Tutankhamun's tomb. Afterwards, you'll return to your hotel.

After breakfast, you'll transfer to Cairo Airport for your short flight to Luxor, often called the world's greatest open-air museum. On arrival you'll be met and taken straight to the East Bank. You'll explore the vast Karnak Temple Complex, dedicated to the god Amun and one of the largest religious sites ever built, then the elegant Luxor Temple, once linked to Karnak by the ancient Avenue of Sphinxes. After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll check into your Luxor hotel and enjoy some time to relax.

After breakfast, you'll cross to Luxor's West Bank. You'll visit the legendary Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs' tombs were cut deep into the desert hills, followed by the striking terraced Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the giant Colossi of Memnon. After lunch, you'll board your elegant Dahabiya — a traditional sailing boat — to begin your Nile journey. As you set off towards Esna, you'll settle into the calm, unhurried pace of Upper Egypt's rural riverbanks.
Stay: Dahabiya (sailing boat)

Included Visits: Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut, Colossi of Memnon
Important Notes: The West Bank is hot and open, with uneven ground and steps into some tombs. Light clothing, a hat and sturdy shoes are recommended
Enjoy breakfast on board as you sail to El Kab, one of Egypt's oldest settlements. Here you'll explore ancient tombs and temple ruins carved into the hillside before continuing gently along the Nile towards Edfu. After lunch on board, you'll visit the beautifully preserved Temple of Horus at Edfu — dedicated to the falcon-headed god and one of the finest temples from the Greco-Roman period. You'll then return to your Dahabiya and carry on sailing.

After breakfast on board, you'll stop at Gebel El Silsila, the ancient sandstone quarry that supplied the stone for many of Egypt's great temples. You'll explore its rock-cut chapels — including the speos of Horemheb — and ancient inscriptions, set against dramatic scenery along the Nile. Back on board, you'll enjoy lunch as you sail on peacefully towards Kom Ombo, taking in the relaxed rhythm and pretty views along the riverbanks.

It's dedicated to two gods — Sobek the crocodile god and Horus the Elder — and you'll see its mirror-image halls, detailed carvings and even ancient medical instruments etched into the walls. Back on board, you'll continue sailing towards the charming city of Aswan, with lunch and dinner served as the scenery drifts by.
