Itinerary

Welcome to Namibia, a country whose name means "vast place", a description you'll soon understand as your Namibia group tour begins. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel in Windhoek, where you'll meet your guide and fellow travellers. A short welcome briefing will introduce you to the itinerary, route, and exciting experiences planned for the days ahead.

The rest of the day is yours to settle in and relax before your adventure begins. Your guide will arrange dinner at a local restaurant, giving you the opportunity to get to know the group before setting off on your journey.

  • Your accommodation is booked on a Bed & Breakfast (BB) basis, with breakfast included the following morning.
  • All other meals are at your own expense.

Today, your guided adventure truly begins. After breakfast, you'll have the opportunity to stop in town to pick up any last-minute essentials before departing Windhoek. Your destination is one of Namibia's most iconic attractions, the breathtaking Namib Desert. The journey takes approximately 4 to 5 hours, travelling south through spectacular scenery before reaching the endless sea of towering red sand dunes.

On the way: Travel south through Rehoboth before heading southwest towards Sossusvlei. Your route follows the scenic Spreetshoogte Pass, where you'll stop at the top of the escarpment to capture panoramic views of one of Namibia's most remarkable landscapes. Another stop is made in Solitaire, where you can enjoy a refreshing drink and a light snack before continuing to your lodge.

When you're there: Spend the afternoon at leisure, relax at the lodge, join your guide for an afternoon nature walk, or book an optional sundowner excursion offered by the lodge.

On Day 3, you'll set off before sunrise to reach the entrance gates of Sossusvlei as the park opens. Early morning is the perfect time to experience the desert, when cooler temperatures and the changing light create spectacular colours and dramatic contrasts across the dunes. Explore the iconic landscapes of Dead Vlei and Sossusvlei, then climb Big Daddy or Dune 45 for breathtaking panoramic views of endless dunes stretching to the horizon. Enjoy a picnic breakfast surrounded by the desert before continuing your exploration with visits to Elim Dune and Sesriem Canyon. Your experienced guide will carefully plan the day's schedule to ensure you visit each highlight at the ideal time for the best possible experience.

After returning to the lodge, take time to unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings before ending the day with a memorable sundowner and dinner beneath one of the world's darkest night skies.

  • Your stay is booked on a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast (DBB) basis. Lunches are optional and available at an additional cost.

After breakfast, leave the warmth of the Namib Desert behind as you travel towards Namibia's refreshing Atlantic coastline. Your next destination is the charming seaside town of Swakopmund, nestled between the towering desert dunes and the Atlantic Ocean. Known as Namibia's adventure capital, Swakopmund offers a wide variety of activities and attractions. The scenic 5 to 6-hour drive takes you through dramatic mountain passes and vast open landscapes, once again showcasing the immense scale and beauty of the country.

On the way: Travel via Solitaire before crossing sweeping desert plains towards the coast, where the dunes meet the Atlantic Ocean. Along the route, you'll pass through the impressive Gaub Canyon, Kuiseb Canyon, and the Tropic of Capricorn, with plenty of opportunities to stop for photographs and short breaks. You'll also make a detour to the remarkable Moon Landscape, where you can admire the ancient, desert-adapted Welwitschia plants, some of which are over a thousand years old.

When you're there: Spend your time exploring both Swakopmund and nearby Walvis Bay. Whether you choose to discover the towering dunes, venture out onto the ocean, or experience a combination of both, there is no shortage of activities to enjoy. With a full day at your leisure, you'll have plenty of time to relax and experience everything this unique coastal region has to offer.

  • Your accommodation is booked on a Bed & Breakfast (BB) basis. Lunches and dinners are at your own expense.

Your Namibia Group Tour continues inland to the remarkable region of Damaraland, a landscape of dry riverbeds, towering granite boulders, endless grassy plains, and vast open skies.

On the way: Today's journey follows the coastline to Cape Cross, home to the world's largest breeding colony of Cape fur seals. From there, you'll return through Henties Bay before heading inland via Uis. Along the route, you'll stop at the fascinating lichen fields and a nearby salt pan, a popular spot for birdwatching. Depending on your departure time and the day's schedule, there may also be an opportunity to detour to Brandberg Mountain, Namibia's largest inselberg, before continuing to the Twyfelfontein region.

After arriving at your lodge, enjoy the afternoon at leisure, join your guide for a nature walk, or take part in an optional lodge-guided activity.

When you're there: During your stay in the Twyfelfontein area, your guide will introduce you to the region's most famous attractions, including the Twyfelfontein Rock Engravings, Burnt Mountain, and the striking Organ Pipes rock formations. You'll also enjoy a nature drive through the surrounding landscapes and dry riverbeds in search of the region's famous desert-adapted elephants and other wildlife. Despite the harsh, arid environment, this remarkable ecosystem supports an impressive variety of life. If time permits, you'll also visit the Damara Living Museum, where you can discover the traditions and way of life of the local Damara people.

  • Your stay is booked on a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast (DBB) basis. Lunches are optional and available at an additional cost.

Today's journey is shorter as your Namibia Group Tour continues east to Etosha National Park, Namibia's most celebrated wildlife destination. Travelling through the scenic landscapes and wide-open plains of Damaraland, you'll pass through Outjo before heading north to the park's southern entrance. From desert-adapted wildlife to four of the Big Five, this is where your unforgettable safari experience begins. Etosha is renowned for its incredible concentration of wildlife, and it's not uncommon to see up to seven different animal species gathered around a single waterhole.

On the way: Stop near Khorixas to visit the fascinating Petrified Forest. In Outjo, you'll have the opportunity to pause at a local bakery for freshly baked treats, or a refreshing drink before continuing to Etosha. If time permits, you may also make a short detour to Vingerklip and Ugab Terrace for scenic photo opportunities.

When you're there: Widely regarded as one of Africa's finest game parks, Etosha National Park is home to an estimated 250 lions, 300 rhinos, 2,500 giraffes, 6,000 zebras, 20,000 springbok, and 2,000 elephants, along with many other species. You'll also encounter numerous plains game and an impressive variety of birdlife. The park's vast white salt pan creates a spectacular backdrop, making every wildlife sighting even more memorable. Your guide will lead exciting game drives through the park, giving you every opportunity to enjoy Etosha's extraordinary wildlife. Expect wildlife, wildlife, and even more wildlife.

  • Your stay is booked on a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast (DBB) basis. Lunches are optional and available at an additional cost.

Today, you'll travel across Etosha National Park on a full-day game drive, making the journey from the southern entrance to the eastern side of the park. This scenic safari is the day's main activity, with plenty of stops at the park's famous waterholes, where a remarkable variety of wildlife gathers throughout the day. Your unforgettable wildlife adventure continues as you explore one of Africa's premier safari destinations.

When you're there: Upon arrival at your lodge, you'll have the afternoon to relax, followed by a full day to discover the eastern region of Etosha National Park. Enjoy guided game drives in your specially converted safari vehicle, visiting more waterholes and searching for incredible wildlife sightings with your experienced guide. Back at the lodge, unwind by putting your feet up, cool off with a swim in the pool during the heat of the day, and soak up the African sunshine. As evening falls, take in another spectacular Etosha sunset before dinner.

  • Your stay is booked on a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast (DBB) basis, including dinner, overnight accommodation, and breakfast. Any additional meals are at your own expense.

Your Namibia group tour comes to an end today, so you'll set off early for the journey back to Windhoek. The drive along well-maintained tarred roads takes approximately 5 to 6 hours. Upon arrival, your guide will either transfer you to your accommodation in Windhoek for an additional overnight stay (optional extra) or take you directly to Windhoek International Airport for your departure flight. Please note that your international flight should be scheduled for the late afternoon or evening to allow sufficient travel time from Etosha National Park.

  • Note: If your flight departs the following day, we can also arrange post-tour accommodation in Windhoek to suit your travel schedule.
