Embark on a trip to South India and enjoy a rich heritage ethnically and culturally distinct from that of northern India. Palm-fringed seashores, fertile rice fields, upland tropical forests, intricately carved temples and calm ocean lagoons complete the picture. A night houseboat journey along the picturesque backwaters of Kerala, the best in Indian temple art at Mahabalipuram, and the spectacular Maharaja's Palace in Mysore are just some of the highlights of our this trip.

Day 1: Bangalore Arrival

Start your trip to South India by arriving at Bangalore airport. Our representative will meet and transfer you to hotel. Rest of time at leisure.

Day 2: Welcome Hassan

This morning we depart by road for Hassan. En route we stop at Shravanabelagola, the famous Jain pilgrimage center and one of the oldest in India. After our visit we drive further to reach our hotel in Hassan.

Day 3: Hoysala Village Resort, Hassan

Today we have a day-trip to Belur and Halebid. Belur and Halebid were both capitals of the medieval Hoysala kings who built the exquisitely carved temples in the 12th and 13th centuries.

Then return to Hassan.

Day 4: Mysore Tour

Today we travel by road to Mysore. Our sightseeing of this princely town will include the famous Palace of Mysore; the Jayachamsrajendra Art Gallery housed in the Jaganmohan palace. Then, we drive to Chamumdi Hill Temple, with seven storey tower that dominates the temple. A view of the entire city from this hilltop is impressive.

Day 5: Bandipur National Park

After breakfast, drive to Mudumalai. Then, continiue to Mudumalai, one of South India's largest wildlife reserves. On arrival we check in to our hotel. This evening we view the Elephant Worship (Pooja) ceremony.

Day 6: Continuing Bandipur National Park

In the morning we have a jeep safari in the forests of Mudumalai. You can enjoy elephant ride to areas inaccessible by vehicles (if available).

Day 7: Welcome Coimbatore

Today we travel to Ooty where we visit the Botanical Gardens. After a lunch break we catch the Nilgiri Mountain Railway, a steam train to Mettupalayam.

Day 8: Kochi Arrival

Today we travel by road to Kochi (Cochin). This evening we attend the famous dance drama of Kerala, the "Kathakali".

Day 9: Proceeding Kochi

Today we have a tour of Kochi, including Chinese fishing Nets,Santa Cruz Basilica Church and Mattancherry.

Day 10: Welcome Alappuzha

Today we drive to Alappuzha (Alleppey). Today we board our houseboat for a very special Kerala delight, a slow boat cruise through its forests and palm-shaded canals. We take a leisurely cruise on the beautiful backwaters, enjoying the pleasant scenery along the waterways and stopping to admire what history and religion have left along the way. Our trip goes through a wonderful area full of palm trees and rice fields, and we stop along the way, walk through some villages and observe local life close up.

Day 11: Thekkady Arrival

Today we disembark our boat and travel by road to a lower lying part of the mountain range.

On arrival we check in to our hotel.

Day 12: Madurai Tour

This morning we board a boat for a tour of the park. See many animals including herds of elephants, bison and packs of wild boar that roam through the woods and parade along the shores of the lake just before sunrise and sunset. You can also see different species of apes.

This afternoon we have a guided forest walk in the Periyar Tiger Reserve. See the wild life at a very closer distance. You can have a (slim) chance to spot a leopard or tiger.

Afterwards, return to the hotel for refreshment and check out before driving to Madurai.

Day 13: Continuing Madurai

Today we have a tour of Madurai, visiting the Sri Meenakshi Temple. You can also get your fortune read by parrots picking tarot cards out of a pile.

In the evening sermons are held within the walls of the temple and concerts are often given in honour of the gods.


Optional:

Later you might choose to participate in a local rickshaw tour. This tour takes you to the local oil mill run with cattle, the local vessel merchants and many interesting sites.

Day 14: Puducherry Arrival

We depart the hotel early this morning and transfer to the railway station and board the train to Villupuram. On arrival in Villupuram we drive to Puducherry (formerly Pondicherry).

Day 15: Proceeding Puducherry

Puducherry is a well-planned and well-built town. After breakfast, proceed for Pondicherry sightseeing. Pondicherry still features French street names, croissants and policemen in French-style uniforms.

Day 16: Mahabalipuram Tour

Today we travel by road to Mamallapuram. Have a guided tour of this important site, including Arjuna Penance (Bass Relief), and the monuments of Krishna Butterball, Lion's throne, Five rathas (symbolising equality of men and women), ending with at the famous Shore Temple.

Day 17: Final Departure

After breakfast, embark upon a colonial tour of Chennai, located in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. Our city sightseeing of Chennai includes a visit to the National Art Gallery and Museum, Fort St George, St Mary's Church, the San Thome Cathedral, the Mylapore Temple and the Light House.

Afterwards, head to the airport for a flight back home.

Tour price currency is set to USD but you can pay in Euro or British pound. The prices quoted per person per tour and prices are always updated to ensure you receive the best possible price. Prices are valid all the year, except during Christmas 2019 and New Year 2020.

Child Policy

- 0 - 4.99 Free of Charge

- 5 - 10 pay 25% of tour price

- 11 - 11.99 pay 50% of tour price

- 12+ pay full tour price as per adult person

Note: If the tour package includes flights, trains, jungle safari, private monument, an extra supplement will be applicable to the child.

Payment Policy

An invoice shall be generated, once received confirmation on a tour. The deposit 50% of the total cost, will be required at the time of confirmation. You can pay by bank transfer or credit card. This deposit counts as part of your final payment. The balance 50% is payable 30 days before the commencement of the tour plus any applicable insurance premiums.

Note: Kindly note that in special cases wherein a hotel requires 100% payment in advance (during festive period i.e. Pushkar Fair, Christmas, New Year, etc.), will be payable along with 50% tour deposit. As per hotel policy, this amount will not be refundable.

Tour Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your booking at any time prior to commencement of the tour by notifying us in writing. The cancellation charges shall be as follows:

  • If you cancel before 45 days of tour commencement date, there will be no cancellation fees, except components which require per booking (train, flight and safaris).
  • If you cancel on or before 44-30 days of tour commencement date, 25% of the entire tour price will be charged.
  • If you cancel on or before 29-15 days of tour commencement date, 50% of the entire tour price will be charged.
  • Less than 14 Days before arrival 100% cancellation will be applicable.
Changes By You

If you request any changes to your travel arrangements once we have confirmed a booking, all out of pocket charges, including charges imposed by our suppliers, will be payable by you. If after the commencement of your tour you request any changes to your travel arrangements, we will do our best to implement them, but we cannot guarantee that it will be possible. In the event of such change(s) being made, you will be liable for any cancellation charges that may be levied for the previously booked service and for any costs incurred by us and our suppliers in attempting to secure any revised arrangements. Any name changes must be provided to us in writing and are subject to any airline/ train fees or penalties.

Passports & Visa Fees

All Passengers are responsible for securing proper documentation prior to joining the tour. Passports are required; in addition, travelers are advised to check with local consulates for full details regarding Visa requirements. Please note securing a valid visa for entry is sole responsibility of the traveler.
