Overnight in Bangkok
On this day, you will visit two of Bangkok’s most important landmarks, Wat Pho and the Grand Palace. Wat Pho, known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, houses a 46-meter-long gold-leafed reclining Buddha. The magnificent Grand Palace, a fine example of an ancient Siamese royal court, sits on the banks of the Chao Phraya River and is a must-see for every visitor to Bangkok. Within its grounds is the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew). After lunch at a Thai restaurant, we will take a boat cruise along the Chao Phraya River, the River of Kings.
Along the way, you will see life along the canals, wooden stilt houses, and peaceful riverside temples, offering a glimpse into a slower, traditional way of life that earned Bangkok the nickname “Venice of the East.” We will then stop at Wat Arun, one of Bangkok’s most photographed landmarks, giving you time to stretch your legs and admire its sparkling pagoda. Rising 76 meters into the sky and decorated with glazed ceramic tiles that reflect the morning sun, it is known as the Temple of Dawn.

Let’s explore the old Bangkok, when daily life revolved around rivers and waterways. You will travel approximately 100 km outside Bangkok to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. A thrilling and scenic longtail speedboat ride will take you past riverside villages and fruit plantations before reaching the lively market. There will be plenty of opportunities to take photos along the way and at the colorful market.
Vendors sell tropical fruits, exotic vegetables, and fragrant snacks from small wooden sampans on the water, while dockside stalls are filled with local handicrafts, wood carvings, assorted silks, and other souvenirs. It’s an excellent place to shop for keepsakes and gain insight into Thailand’s rural culture. The afternoon is free at leisure.
