On August 2, 2027, the Moon will completely cover the Sun over the Strait of Gibraltar, and Tangier sits right in the path of totality. Our Morocco Eclipse 2027 Tour puts you there for this rare total solar eclipse, a sky event that will not return to Morocco for decades, and wraps it inside a 10-day journey through the country's most iconic cities.

Your adventure begins in Casablanca with the Hassan II Mosque on the Atlantic shore, then continues to Rabat, Morocco's capital, and north to Tangier, the "Bride of the North." On eclipse day, you'll head out early to watch totality in Tangier before exploring Chefchaouen, the famous Blue City. From there, discover the Roman ruins of Volubilis, the imperial city of Meknes, the 9th-century medina of Fez with its tanneries and pottery workshop, and finally the gardens, mosques and souks of Marrakech.

This is one of the most complete 2027 solar eclipse tours in North Africa: an English-speaking guided group tour (minimum 2 travelers) with 9 nights of hotel accommodation, daily breakfast from Day 2, airport transfers, and expert local guides in every city. Whether you're an eclipse chaser or a first-time visitor comparing Morocco tour packages, this is the moment to see Morocco and the eclipse of the century in one unforgettable trip.

Itinerary

Welcome to Morocco! As you land in Casablanca, our representative will be waiting for you in front of the airport exit gate to greet you and escort you to your hotel for check-in. Settle in and rest up: your Morocco eclipse 2027 adventure starts tomorrow.

Overnight in Casablanca.

After breakfast, meet your expert local guide for a captivating tour of Casablanca. Start with an exterior visit to the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, a breathtaking architectural masterpiece set dramatically on the Atlantic coastline. Continue along the scenic corniche, stroll through the charming Habous quarter, and stop at the Royal Palace for an exterior view of this impressive complex.

In the afternoon, travel to Rabat, Morocco's capital and the first of the imperial cities on this tour. Founded by Abd Al-Mu'min of the Almohad dynasty for strategic military purposes, Rabat began life as Ribatu l-Fath, meaning "stronghold of victory." Your guided Rabat tour brings this history to life with visits to the Royal Palace, the iconic Hassan Tower and the picturesque Kasbah Oudaya. Then enjoy free time in the old medina, where vibrant souks and bazaars are packed with treasures: traditional and modern leather shoes, Moroccan-style bags, authentic Berber crafts and vintage jewelry shops.

Overnight in Rabat.

After breakfast, head north to Tangier, celebrated as the "Bride of the North" and the host city of the Tangier eclipse 2027. Sitting at the southern entrance of the Strait of Gibraltar, just miles from Spain's coastline, Tangier has been a vital gateway between Africa and Europe since ancient Phoenician times.

Begin your tour at the Kasbah Museum of Mediterranean Cultures, housed in Dar el Makhzen, a former sultan's palace in the whitewashed hillside medina that now showcases fascinating Moroccan artifacts. Continue to the lively souks of Petit Socco and Grand Socco, where you can taste local products and enjoy street food at your leisure. Next, visit the American Legation Museum, home to impressive artworks including the famous "Moroccan Mona Lisa." Don't miss St. Andrew's Anglican Church, one of the city's most intriguing landmarks, built in a distinctive Moroccan architectural style with the Lord's Prayer inscribed in Arabic above the altar. Finally, drive about 1 hour from Tangier to Tetouan for the night.

Overnight in Tetouan.

Today is the highlight of your 2027 solar eclipse tour: the August 2, 2027 total solar eclipse, a breathtaking celestial event that won't grace Morocco's skies again for decades.

Leave Tetouan early for Tangier to witness the total solar eclipse in Tangier, then enjoy your breakfast before continuing to Chefchaouen. Here your guide welcomes you for an enchanting Chefchaouen tour of the famous Blue City, including the Kasbah Ali Ben Rachid, Plaza Uta el-Hammam and a full walking tour of this captivating mountain town.

Chefchaouen earned its nickname, the "Blue Pearl," from the blue paint that covers almost every building. The tradition traces back to Jewish customs and beliefs, in which blue symbolizes the sky and serves as a reminder of heaven and the divine. The result is a town full of charm, comfort and calm. In the evening, drive back to Tetouan.

Overnight in Tetouan.

After breakfast, set off early for Fez, with fascinating stops at Meknes and Volubilis along the way. The archaeological site of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands as a testament to Morocco's multicultural heritage. A specialized guide leads you through the remains of this Roman outpost, past triumphal arches, the Capitoline Temple and the magnificent Orpheus mosaics that reveal vivid stories of Roman life.

Continue to the imperial city of Meknes, one of Morocco's less-visited yet equally captivating destinations. Built by Moulay Ismail, who dreamed of creating Morocco's answer to Versailles, Meknes reveals its grandeur through the eyes of your local guide. Visit the celebrated Bab El Mansour and the Lahri gates, the beating heart of this historic city, then continue to Fez.

Overnight in Fez.

After breakfast, begin your guided tour of Fez, Morocco's capital until 1912. Today focuses on the Fez Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site founded in the 9th century and home to the world's oldest continuously operating university. Your local guide takes you to the city's most important landmarks: the Bou Inania and Attarine Medersas, the traditional tanneries, Seffarine Square, the tomb of Moulay Idriss, Nejjarine Square, the cabinet makers' souk and the historic Jewish quarter known as the Mellah.

Your day also includes a visit to a pottery workshop with a master craftsman for an authentic, hands-on Moroccan cultural experience. After an optional lunch at a local restaurant, return to your hotel or explore the narrow alleys of the ancient medina on your own.

Cultural insight: every October, Fez hosts one of the world's largest and most renowned Sufi festivals, with performers from across the globe.

Overnight in Fez.

After breakfast, you'll be picked up for your journey to the imperial city of Marrakech. The route winds through small villages including Imouzzer and Ifrane. Later in the day, you'll reach Beni Mellal, one of Morocco's most important agricultural centers, before continuing to Marrakech. On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure.

Overnight in Marrakech.

Wake up in Marrakech, a dream destination for travelers worldwide, and make the most of this special day. After breakfast, your local guide and driver are ready to start your guided exploration of the "Ochre City."

Begin at the Majorelle Garden, named after French painter Jacques Majorelle, who poured tremendous effort and passion into creating this artistic masterpiece. Next, continue to the Menara: despite its Arabic name meaning "lighthouse," it is actually an elegant pavilion with a basin surrounded by gardens of orchards and olive groves. Then visit the Koutoubia Mosque and walk through the Jewish quarter, the Mellah. After an optional lunch at a local restaurant, enjoy free time before transferring back to your hotel.

Overnight in Marrakech.

After breakfast, enjoy a free morning in Marrakech, with the option to join an optional tour of your choice. In the afternoon, transfer to Casablanca and check in to your hotel for the evening.

Overnight in Casablanca.

After breakfast, transfer to Casablanca Airport for your flight home, carrying memories of the Morocco eclipse 2027 and the magic of Morocco's imperial cities.
