Itinerary

Welcome to Jordan! When you land at Queen Alia International Airport, our representative will be there to meet you and help you through customs and immigration before taking you to your Amman hotel. After checking in, you'll confirm your pick-up time for the morning, then the rest of the day is yours to relax and settle in.

Stay: Your hotel in Amman

Important Notes: Your Jordan entry visa is included when you stay two nights or more and send passport details in advance

After breakfast, you'll explore Amman, known in ancient times as Philadelphia. You'll see the Roman Theatre, the Archaeological Museum and the hilltop Citadel with its ruined Temple of Hercules. From there, you'll drive to Jerash — often called the ‘Pompeii of the East’ and one of the best-preserved Roman provincial towns anywhere. Walking its colonnaded main street, you'll take in the Cardo, the South Theatre, the Temple of Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, the Temple of Artemis and the Nymphaeum, along with Byzantine churches rich in mosaics. You'll then return to Amman for the night.

Stay: Your hotel in Amman

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Included Visits: Roman Theatre, Archaeological Museum, Amman Citadel, Jerash

Important Notes: Jerash involves a fair amount of walking on uneven stone; comfortable shoes are recommended. A local guide joins you in Jerash for about an hour

After breakfast, you'll set off south towards Petra along the historic King's Highway, one of the most memorable routes in the Holy Land. Your first stop is Madaba, the ‘City of Mosaics’, where the Greek Orthodox Church of St George holds a vivid sixth-century mosaic map of Jerusalem and the holy sites. A short drive away is Mount Nebo, the revered spot where Moses is said to have looked out over the Promised Land. You'll then visit the dramatic hilltop Shobak Castle before continuing on to Petra for the evening.

Stay: Your hotel in Petra

Meals: Breakfast

Included Visits: Madaba, Mount Nebo, Shobak Castle

Optional Experiences:

Important Notes: A scenic day with some driving between sites. Modest dress is appreciated at the churches

After breakfast, you'll spend the day exploring Petra, Jordan's most famous site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. You'll walk in through the Siq, a winding canyon that opens onto the breathtaking Treasury, carved straight into the rose-red rock. Beyond it you'll discover soaring temples, royal tombs, a theatre and ancient water channels. In the evening, you can experience the magic of Petra by Night — a candle-lit walk through the Siq to the Treasury, with music and stories bringing the old Nabataean city to life.

Stay: Your hotel in Petra

Meals: Breakfast

Included Visits: Petra, Petra by Night

Important Notes: Petra involves considerable walking over uneven, rocky ground with some inclines. A good level of fitness, sturdy shoes, water, a hat and sunscreen are recommended. Petra by Night runs on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings (approx. 8:30–10:30 pm). Horse rides near the entrance and carriages inside are not included

After breakfast, you'll drive south to Wadi Rum — a stunning moonscape of ancient riverbeds, wind-carved mountains and smooth, pastel-coloured sand. You'll set off on a two-hour jeep safari with local Bedouin drivers, taking in the vast desert scenery made famous by ‘Lawrence of Arabia’. As the day winds down, you'll settle into your desert camp to relax and enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars.

Stay: Desert camp in Wadi Rum

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Included Visits: 4WD jeep safari in Wadi Rum (approx. 2 hours)

Important Notes: Desert days are hot and nights can be cool, so pack layers. Camp facilities are simple by nature

After breakfast, you'll leave the desert and drive to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth. Rich in minerals long prized for their healing and beauty benefits, its famously salty water lets you float with ease. You'll have time to swim, coat yourself in the mineral-rich mud and simply relax by the shore before continuing back to Amman for your final night.

Stay: Your hotel in Amman

Meals: Breakfast

Included Visits: Dead Sea

Important Notes: Avoid shaving beforehand and keep the salty water away from your eyes. Water shoes are handy, as the shoreline can be rocky. An English-speaking driver accompanies you at the Dead Sea.

After breakfast, you'll be transferred to Amman Airport for your flight home, at the end of your luxury journey through Jordan.

Meals: Breakfast

Important Notes: Please allow enough time for airport check-in and departure procedures

Professional tour guides and nice accommodations

I had a good experience on the 'Taste of Jordan in Petra Tour' with Memphis Tours. Petra was definitely the highlight of the trip, and the food throughout the tour was delicious. However, there was an issue that our driver was a little late on our trip towards north to Jerash, but Our guide did his best to resolve the issue. Despite this, I still enjoyed the tour and would recommend it t

The itinerary was well thought-out and allowed us to see all the major sites in both countries. The accommodations were comfortable and the food was delicious. I especially enjoyed visiting the Temple of Karnak and the ancient city of Jerash.
