Your trip opens with privately guided visits to the Giza Pyramids, the Great Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum. You then fly to Hurghada for four days of guided boat diving with the professional Memphis Tours dive team. Every morning, the team picks the dive sites that best suit the weather, the sea and each guest’s diving experience, so every day underwater is enjoyable and rewarding. Standard diving equipment, lunches on the boat and marine park fees are all included. A full free day at your beachfront resort gives you time to unwind before you head back to Cairo for an evening dinner cruise on the Nile.
The trip is built mainly for divers certified to PADI Open Water level or equivalent, from the newly certified to experienced recreational divers, with up to eight guided dives over bright coral reefs full of marine life. Never been diving? Instead of the certified program, you can book an instructor-led introductory dive at suitable shallow reefs, with no certification needed. Non-diving companions are welcome on the boat trips too, to snorkel or simply relax, depending on availability and sea conditions. With a choice of Gold or Diamond hotels, this scuba diving holiday in the Red Sea combines ancient wonders, underwater adventure and time on the beach for couples, families and travelers with different levels of diving experience.

When you land at Cairo International Airport, a Memphis Tours representative will be waiting for you at Immigration and Customs with a sign showing your name, ready to help with arrival formalities. A private, air-conditioned vehicle then takes you to your hotel, where your representative helps you check in, goes through your itinerary and confirms the pickup times for your tours. The rest of the day is free to settle in before your first taste of Egypt’s history.

After breakfast, your private Egyptologist guide meets you for a morning on the famous Giza Plateau. Stand before the Great Pyramids, take in the wide desert views from the panoramic viewpoint and come face to face with the Great Sphinx, one of the best-known monuments of ancient Egypt.
Lunch is at a local restaurant, then you continue to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), where Tutankhamun’s treasures and remarkable artifacts bring thousands of years of history to life. A private vehicle takes you back to your hotel afterward, and the evening is yours.

Good to know: Going inside the Great Pyramid costs extra. Today involves a fair amount of walking, some of it on uneven ground, so wear comfortable shoes and bring a hat and sunscreen.
After breakfast, transfer to Cairo Airport for your included flight to Hurghada. Your private driver meets you on arrival and takes you to your Red Sea beachfront resort.
You’ll then meet the professional Memphis Tours dive team for a personal orientation. They’ll check your diving certification and recent experience, fit your equipment and walk you through the Red Sea diving program ahead. First-time divers and anyone taking the optional PADI Open Water course also get a briefing designed for their activities.
The rest of the day is free to enjoy the beach or your resort before your Red Sea adventure starts.

Domestic flight baggage: 23 kg (50 lb) checked baggage and 7 kg (15 lb) cabin baggage per person, subject to airline rules.
After breakfast, transfer from your resort to the marina and step aboard a comfortable shared dive boat with the professional Memphis Tours dive team. Your day starts with a relaxed orientation and check dive, giving you time to get used to your equipment, fine-tune your buoyancy and settle into the underwater world of the Red Sea.
After lunch on board, make a second guided dive if conditions allow, exploring colorful coral gardens and marine life at an easy pace. Non-divers can snorkel at suitable spots or relax on deck. You’re back at your hotel in the afternoon, with time to unwind before dinner.

Good to know: The dive team chooses suitable reefs based on the weather, sea conditions and divers’ experience, so dive sites can change. First-time divers and PADI course students follow their own instructor-led programs.
With your first diving day done, you head out to sea again to explore more. The dive team picks two sites with rich coral and plenty of marine life, so you can relax, sharpen your skills and enjoy longer, more confident dives. Keep an eye out for parrotfish, angelfish and moray eels, and if you’re lucky, turtles. Between dives, relax on deck with lunch and drinks on board. You’re back at your hotel with the evening free.

Your third day of guided diving with the Memphis Tours dive team takes you further. Now that you’re in the rhythm of diving, explore more of Hurghada’s varied underwater scenery, from coral gardens to sheltered island reefs, at sites picked for the day’s wind, visibility and sea conditions. Make two guided dives if conditions allow, with time to enjoy the marine life and the views. Between dives, relax on deck with a freshly made lunch, tea, coffee and soft drinks. Non-divers can snorkel at suitable spots or relax on board. Return to your resort for dinner.

Head out for your fourth and last day at sea with the Memphis Tours dive team. Your morning and afternoon dives show you more of Hurghada’s reefs, at sites chosen to make the most of the weather and to avoid the busiest spots. Dive at your own pace with professional guides, then enjoy one last lunch on board on the way back to the marina. Non-divers can snorkel at suitable spots or relax on deck. Return to your hotel for a relaxed evening.

Good to know: Tomorrow is a free day with no diving, so you have plenty of time out of the water before your flight.
Take it easy after your days underwater. Relax on the beach or by the pool, book a spa treatment or simply enjoy your resort. This slow day also gives you a long break from diving before tomorrow’s domestic flight, which is an important part of a well-planned diving trip.

After breakfast, transfer to Hurghada Airport for your flight to Cairo. Your Memphis Tours representative meets you there for a private transfer to the hotel. In the evening, enjoy dinner on a Nile cruise boat as the city lights shimmer on the river and Cairo takes on a different feel after dark. Return to your hotel for your last night.
