Upon arrival at the riverside pier, board a motorboat for a leisurely cruise, taking in classic Delta views such as traditional stilt houses and active fisheries.
Switch from boat to bicycle for an easy, relaxing ride along flat village paths, passing fruit orchards and traditional homes while observing rural life that has remained largely unchanged for generations. Along the way, friendly children greet you with cheerful “Xin Chao.” Visit a family-run workshop to see how coconut candies are handmade, then enjoy local tea with honey and sample fresh fruits while chatting with local residents to learn about Mekong Delta lifestyles and customs.

Begin the day with a visit to the Rom Hub Railway Market (Folding Umbrella Market) by boarding a train at Mae Klong Station. This unique market is set directly on active train tracks, where locals sell fresh produce, fruits, and other farm goods. When the train approaches, vendors quickly fold their umbrellas and remove their stalls. Enjoy a short train journey through the market, observing daily life and interacting with the friendly vendors.
Next, explore the famous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. A thrilling longtail speedboat ride takes you past riverside villages and fruit plantations before reaching the colorful market. Vendors sell tropical fruits, exotic vegetables, and local snacks from wooden boats, while dockside stalls offer handicrafts, silk, wood carvings, and souvenirs. It’s a perfect spot for photos and to experience Thailand’s rural culture.
In the afternoon, visit two of Bangkok’s iconic landmarks: Wat Pho and the Grand Palace. Wat Pho, the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, houses a 46-meter-long gold-leafed Buddha. The Grand Palace, a stunning example of ancient Siamese architecture along the Chao Phraya River, also contains the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew).

Explore Wat Phra Singh, home to the revered Phra Singh Buddha, and Wat Chedi Luang, notable for its large pagoda that was damaged in the 1545 earthquake.

Depart Chiang Mai at 7:00 AM for a scenic 50-minute drive north to Elephant Eco Valley, passing rural villages, forests, and farms. Visit the Elephant Culture Museum, Thailand’s only museum focused on elephant culture. Explore the gardens, learn about natural treatments, and prepare vitamin and herb balls for the elephants. Feed them bananas or sugar cane and help make elephant poop paper. You can also enjoy a shower overlooking a mountain stream. After the experience, return to your hotel for a free afternoon.
