In jemaa el Fna, you will visit the famous 12th century Koutoubia Mosque and its influential minaret. After tasting a fresh squeezed orange juice, you will be driven to the Lower Medina to explore more of Marrakesh’s secrets: the sixteenth century Saadian Tombs with its stark towers, the 19th century Bahia Palace, originally built for Si Moussa, a former slave who became King Moulay Hassan’s chamberlain. The palace holds a courtyard and riads decorated with beautiful carved stucco, Arabic architecture. Optional lunch at one the Moroccan restaurants of the Medina and then transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Marrakech.

Meals: Breakfast

Breakfast. Marrakech “Red City” is the most important former imperial city in Morocco’s history. It is situated on the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, which we will drive through for miles enjoying the fascinating presence of superb and scattered Berber villages. Almost halfway we will pass by the Universal heritage of Ait Ben Hadou Kasbah, a fortified village of the 11th century. 35km away from Ait Ben Hadou Kasbah we will visit Africa´s Hollywood, Ouarzazate, where the biggest film studios are. The journey will go on along the longest valley over
the kingdom, 1052 km, and the biggest palm tree oasis. Arriving to Zagora where the remains of an Almoravid fortress can still be seen. Night and dinner in Zagora.

Meals: Breakfast and Dinner

Breakfast. Leaving Zagora to Tamagrout which is situated along Draa River. In this small town, we will visit one of the oldest libraries of the kingdom. We drive along Draa valley to M’hamid village. Meet your 4x4 driver and drive to Chegag Dunes (60 km). From a vast plateau, you will be impressed by the huge dune of Chegaga appearing from the horizon, where we go for a camel ride to meet one of the most fascinating dune sights you will ever see, the superb sunset in the middle of the high dune. That night we stayed in a Berber camp and enjoyed a wonderful star view.

  • Overnight in a camp in Chigaga Dunes.
  • Meals: Breakfast and Dinner

Breakfast. Chigaga Dunes – Iriki Lake – Foumzguid – Tazenakht – High Atlas – Marrakech. From Erg Chigaga we drive through dunes along a peaceful and fascinating wilderness passing by the natural dried lake of Iriki. After a long way driving off-road, we get onto the paved road and pass the small town of Foum- Zguid, which is a noiseless and sleepy Berber town. We stopped in Taznakht, which was a former trading post for this large region. This little Berber village is one of the biggest carpet centers in the kingdom. From Taznakht we drive for almost 90 Km, along quiet oases and plenty of Berber villages; to get to the junction between Marrakech and Ouarzazate, we cross the High Atlas Mountains again to return to Marrakech.
