With a roughly $3billion(11.02 United Arab Emirates Dirham)expenditure, the Emirates Palace Abu Dhabi is among the most expensive hotel ever built, coming right after The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Owned by the municipality of Abu Dhabi, the luxurious five-star hotel's project kicked off back in 2001, only to be opened three years later, and is now under the operation of Kempinski. However, the new development set for 2020 has confirmed that Mandarin Oriental will operate the hotel as from the 1st of January 2020 taking over Kempinski.

The Palace Construction

The color of the building is also remarkable, reflecting different shades of sand just like in the Arabian Desert.

 

Most of the suites are furnished with gold and marble, with the primary building houses made of marble floors. Generally, the hotel offers a floor covering a total of 850,000m2, which incredibly aanlarge budget gave the quality.  The west and east wings are the guest rooms, which offer eye-catching traditional decoration on their interior. 

 

It took approximately 20,000 people to provide a suitable workforce for the completion of the project in three years. All the construction was undertaken by the Arabian Construction company, Belhasa construction, Actor Electromech, and Arabian Construction, while the general project management was the responsibility of Projects and Turner construction.

The hotel is equipped with several restaurants and bars. For instance, the Le Vendome Brasserie restaurant, which is located on the fourth floor, offers international buffets. On the first floor is the Sayad restaurant, which provides seafood dishes. The Mezzaluna restaurant, found on the first floor, offers an Italian menu.

Some shots of the hotel have also been revealed in the film "The Kingdom "(released in 2007). Justin Randall Timberlake, the American singer, was also in the hotel for a tour on the 6th of December 2007.

The Emirates Palace Abu Dhabi consists of 394 residences, comprising 92 suites and 22 residential suites. The residences are spspreadn two main sections by the side of the main central building. Gold and Marble are the main architectural decoration substances in most of the royal suites. 6 Royal Suits are dedicated exclusively to dignitaries.
