History:
King Ramesses IX reigned for about seventeen or more years. There was a scandal during his reign, which was recorded in the Abbott Papyrus, in which the tombs in the Theban necropolis were being robbed.There were also campaigns by Libyan bandits. He had one son, Montuherkhopshef, who did not live to succeed Ramesses.
