Varkala

 

Varkala beach has a breathtaking setting. It lies an hour north the capital of Trivandrum in Kerala. The stunning beach has a peaceful atmosphere, compared to the now commercialized Kovalam. The location of the beach is magnificent; it has a long stretch of cliff bordered by views that extend over the Arabian Sea. Varkala is such a great place for people to relax; yoga and Ayurveda are popular there.
 

Gokarna

 

Gokarna is a small holy town, situated in northern Karnataka, with India’s most secluded beaches. The area provides both religious and self-indulgent holidays. Discover what Goa was like in its heyday.

 

Palolem

 

Palolem is a picturesque beach, surrounded by coconut palms forest in far south Goa. Arguably, Palolem is the state’s most beautiful beach. The popularity of the semi-circle shaped beach keeps on growing every year.

Tarkarli beach is featured with scuba diving and snorkeling. The area surrounding Tarkarli beach has one of the best coral reefs. The beach is not on the tourist trail, yet the village is full with homestay accommodations right on the beach. Locals often ride their bicycles or walk to get around.

 

Agonda

 

Agonda, in south Goa, is a perfect beach for doing nothing; it is a great choice for people who wants to get away from it all. Enjoy the nature and stillness from a hut near the beach, with eating, drinking, chilling and swimming.

Arambol

 

Arambol beach is suitable for musicians and hippies. It is located on Goa’s far northern stretch of coastline. The beach is now crowded with long term travellers. To relax, there is a plenty of activities, such as meditation, yoga, tai chi and reiki. With its live music jam sessions, the nightlife is relaxing.

 

Ashvem/Mandrem/Morjim

 

Beaches of Ashvem, Mandrem and Morjim are the best trendy wide open beaches. They are located in north Goa, lined up next to each other. The area comprises of a number of yoga retreats and some beach huts. There is also fashionable resorts, restaurants, beach bars and shops. Sunset Ashram is one of Goa’s best bars.
 

Baga

 

Baga beach in north Goa is known to be the most commercial beach. It is touristy and one of the most trendy beaches on the coast. The beach contains a number of activities: water spots, dolphin sightseeing trips, para sailing; and beach shacks, clubs, bars, and dining restaurants.
 

Kovalam

 

Kovalam is located not far from Trivandrum. It is known to be the beach with a lighthouse. It is one of the best beaches in India for surfing. The beach is made up of two coves: Hawa, also known as Eve’s beach and Lighthouse. Lighthouse is the biggest of the two, with its open air restaurants. The lighthouse has breathtaking views. There is a nearby Samudra beach for those who want somewhere a little more secluded.

 

Radhanagar Beach, Havelock Island

 

Radhanagar Beach in Havelock Island was once votes as Asia’s Best Beach by Time Magazine. It is the best remote beach; it is situated on Havelock Island in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands which are situated on the Bay of Bengal. Radhanagar Beach is known for its tranquility, still water and fine water sand.
