Full-day exploration of Fez with a private guide. Wander the UNESCO-listed medina: visit the Bou Inania Madrasa, view the ancient University, see the famous Chouara tannery, and explore vibrant artisan souks and the historic Mellah (Jewish Quarter). Journey south via the Middle Atlas mountains. Pass through Ifrane (a Swiss-like mountain town) and Midelt, then descend the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, gateway to the Sahara. By late afternoon, switch to 4×4 jeeps for an exciting ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes to your desert camp at Merzouga. Arrive by sunset. Dinner and music under starry skies.

Sunrise camel trek in the dunes. After breakfast, depart Merzouga. Drive westward, stopping to admire the towering red cliffs of the Todra Gorge. Continue through the Dades Valley and make a short stop in the palm oasis of Skoura. Arrive in Ouarzazate by evening, known as Morocco’s “Hollywood.”

This morning, optionally visit Atlas Film Studios in Ouarzazate. Then drive over the High Atlas via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass.
