Oman Airports

The Sultanate of Oman is one of the most attractive countries for many tourists all over the world. The country has several airports to receive tourists such as Muscat international airport, Salalah airport, and Khasab airport. 

 

Oman Airports is a government company responsible for managing and operating civil airports in the Sultanate of Oman. It also provides integrated operational services and direct management of the infrastructure of these airports, such as passenger buildings, freight buildings, runways, parking lots, and other facilities.

1- Muscat International Airport

 

Muscat International Airport is the main airport in the Sultanate of Oman. It is located in Wilayat As Seeb. 

 

Oman Airports Management Company S.A.O.C. (OAMC) operates the airport, which lies about 30 kilometers from old Muscat. Taxis are the only means of transport available there. 

 

The airport has been expanded and modernized to increase the passenger capacity of the airport and it is expected that it will receive 20 million travelers a year.

2- Salalah Airport

 

Salalah Airport is considered the second international airport in Oman. Oman Air has direct flights from and into Salalah Airport, in addition to regular direct flights from some Gulf countries. 

 

The airport has now been completely renovated and its capacity is currently two million passengers annually. 

 

In future plans, its capacity will increase (6/6/4) million passengers annually, and the traffic at the airport will increase in the autumn season, which starts from June to September.

3- Khasab Airport

 

 Khasab Airport is located in Khasab District, Musandam Governorate, north of the Sultanate of Oman. The airport receives daily flights from Muscat International Airport operated by Oman Air.

 

4- Sohar Airport

 

It is an international airport located in Sohar, in the Al Batinah region of the Sultanate of Oman. The airport is about 10 km northwest of the state. The airport is a new gateway for the transportation of passengers, goods and express mail in northern Oman.

 

In addition to being the local alternative in emergency situations to Muscat International Airport, the airport plays a role in stimulating economic growth in the Sultanate.
