Armed Forces Museum in Oman

The museum is located at Fort Al Falaj House in Ruwi region in the Governorate of Muscat.

The museum accommodates weapons, clothing, instruments, and other defence systems that display both visually and audibly the development of the Omani armed forces throughout history.
 
Sultan's Armed Forces Museum was graciously inaugurated in 1988 by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. The Museum was a view of the of Oman's military history through its various stages, represented by the historic Bait Al Falaj Fort, which was built during the reign of Sayyid Said bin Sultan in 1845.
Sultan's Armed Forces Museum is the only Military Museum in the Sultanate of Oman. The visitor can be seen inside the museum the Oman Military History since the period of pre-Islamic Oman until the Renaissance period. The visitor will know a lot of information about this museum from the galleries and their exhibits such as weapons, photographs and historical documents. All of these things will transfer the visitor to those times, to witness the story of victories and military events. The visitor will also notice the great development of Oman military after 1970. This Museum contains an outside exhibition, which concludes on a lot of military types of equipment which had previously been used in the Sultan's Armed Forces, such as vehicles, tanks and aircraft and ships.
