Know about Oman International Airports below!

1- Muscat International Airport

Located in Wilayat As Seeb, about 30 kilometers from old Muscat, Muscat International Airport is the main gateway to the Sultanate of Oman. Operated by Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC), it provides excellent facilities and connects Oman to destinations worldwide.

The airport has undergone extensive expansion and modernization, now capable of handling up to 20 million passengers per year. Known for its efficiency and design, it stands as a symbol of Oman’s rapid development and commitment to enhancing tourism and business travel.

2- Salalah Airport

Salalah Airport, situated in the Dhofar Governorate, is Oman’s second international airport and the main entry point to the country’s southern region. It becomes especially busy during the Khareef season (June–September), when the area transforms into a green paradise.

Oman Air and other regional airlines operate direct flights to Salalah from major Gulf cities. The modernized airport currently accommodates 2 million passengers annually, with plans to expand its capacity to 6 million as tourism in Dhofar continues to grow.

3- Khasab Airport

Khasab Airport is located in the Musandam Governorate, one of Oman’s most picturesque regions known for its dramatic fjords and mountains. The airport connects this remote area to Muscat through daily Oman Air flights, offering travelers an easy route to explore northern Oman.

Musandam is often called the “Norway of Arabia” due to its breathtaking scenery. Khasab Airport supports local tourism, trade, and community travel, ensuring that the governorate remains well-connected to the rest of the country all year round.

4- Sohar Airport

Sohar Airport lies about 10 kilometers northwest of Sohar, in the Al Batinah region of Oman. It serves as an important hub for the transportation of passengers, goods, and express mail, supporting both local residents and regional industries.

The airport also acts as an alternative gateway to Muscat International Airport in emergencies. Sohar Airport plays a vital role in boosting trade and investment in northern Oman, contributing significantly to the Sultanate’s long-term economic growth.
