Day 1: New Delhi Arrival

Begin your India small group tour. The capital of India is a bustling metropolis that successfully combines the ancient and the modern in its folds. Delhi can broadly be divided into two parts, Old Delhi and New Delhi. Old Delhi was the capital of Delhi’s Muslim rulers notably the Mughals between 17th & 19th centuries. New Delhi on the other hand is referred to as the Imperial city when the British decided to move their capital from Calcutta in 1911. On arrival, you will be met transferred to the hotel for a non-alcoholic welcome drink.

Morning: Drive to the medieval city of Agra, home of the world-famous Taj Mahal. Agra is one of India’s prime tourist destinations for specifically this reason, though its attractions also extend to an array of other impressive historical sights. The Taj is in a league of its own and needless to say is a must-see for any visitor to the city. Commissioned by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the 15th century as a memorial to his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, it is an architectural masterpiece of exquisite craftsmanship and perfect proportions.

Afternoon: Enjoy your afternoon at leisure or perhaps book an optional tour to the Tomb of Itmad-Ud-Daulah.

Early Evening: At leisure or perhaps book an optional show about the Taj Mahal.

Visit Itmad-Ud-Daulah, known as the "Baby Taj", the first Mughal structure totally built from marble. It is looked upon as the precursor of the Taj Mahal as far as elaborate carvings and inlay work are concerned.

Day 4: Proceeding Agra

Early Morning: Visit the Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays). Often considered the pinnacle of Mughal art in India, the Taj was built by Emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. When declaring it a world heritage site, UNESCO described it as “the jewel of Muslim art in India”. There are few words that can describe the magnificence of this monument. Marvel as light and colors transform this stunning monument in the beautiful rising sun’s rays.

Known as the Red Fort of Agra, this walled imperial city was founded in 1565 by the Emperor Akbar (1556-1605) and is a well-deserving UNESCO World Heritage site, located just 2.5 kilometers from the famous Taj Mahal.

Day 5: Bharatpur Tour

Breakfast: At hotel

Morning: Depart for Bharatpur – a birder’s paradise, en-route visit Fatehpur Sikri an eerily abandoned capital from the Mughal Empire between 1570 and 1586. Akbar built this city to celebrate the birth of his son and future heir to the throne, Emperor Jahangir.

Afternoon: Upon arrival in Bharatpur; check in to the hotel. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure or book an optional visit to the Bird Sanctuary.

Visit Amber Fort built in 1592 by Raja Man Singh. The fort is one of the finest examples of Rajput architecture and offers extensive views over a deep narrow valley and the wider plains beyond. The Fort was completed in the early 18th century, it was once, the capital of the Mina tribes, believed to be the original inhabitants of this region. The fort, sprawled along the Maotha Lake, boasts of a massive complex gateway, courts, stairways and pillared pavilions, and palaces that recall the glory and wealth of Amber's association with the Mughals. This is a beautiful and very well-preserved structure, built on four levels and surrounded by ruins, which served as the backdrop for the Mira Nair movie “Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love.”

Optional tour: experience with the elephants (late morning)

Visitors are taken on a journey to the world of elephants and are guided through an unforgettable experience with these magnificent creatures. Visitors are able to touch, feed, paint, wash, cook and get to know these animals. This tour offers visitors the incredible opportunity to walk hand-in-trunk with elephants. Enter the world of elephant with an Elephant Back Ride. Bare-back Elephant Back Riding enables us as humans to feel the power and bulk of an elephant in contrast with the quietness, delicateness and grace of these mammoth creatures’ movement as they walk/glide across the ground. Understand the height at which an elephant stands and experience their environment from an elephant’s perspective.

Day 7: Proceeding Jaipur

Morning: Enjoy a tour of Jaipur including a visit to the City Palace built between 1729 and 1732 by the ruler, Amber Sawai Jai Singh II. The City Palace covers a large part of the total area of Jaipur; the palace complex was built as if there is a city within a city. A complex of courtyards, gardens, buildings, temples, fountains, pounds, courts, horse stable, workshops and playgrounds make up the palace grounds. Afterwards continue to the impressive Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory built in the early 1700s by Maharaja Jai Sing II, the astronomer to which this city owes its name. The term "Jantar Mantar" literally means "instruments for measuring the harmony of the heavens". It houses various architectural and astrological instruments that have caught the interests of astronomers, historians and architects around the world. It is considered to be one of the largest observatories ever built.

Afternoon: At leisure

Evening: Enjoy an Aarti Ceremony in Birla Mandir. “Aarti” is a very auspicious Hindu ritual in which we offer our prayers (traditional hindi song) to God. The Guru or the Master with his devotees, sing the prayers along with the lighting of small lamps. The experience, the view and the positive vibrations are so inspirational that it is difficult to put into words.

Day 8: Final Departure

Optional tour: Jaipur by cycle - pedal to heritage (morning):

This specially designed morning cycle tour of Old and New Jaipur aims at providing a ‘green way’ of exploring the waking up of the Pink City. We start early to avoid traffic at the iconic Statue Circle with a safety briefing and time to gear up for the ride. The tour heads northwards to M.I Road where we begin by tasting a famous Lassi (churned yogurt shake) to build our energy up for the tour. Afterwards we’ll enter the walled city cycling past its mansions; we will see the city waking up and the temple services starting. We will stop at the market to climb up to its roof for a bird’s eye view of the city afterwards we will ride along through twisting lanes to visit the chief deity of the city ‘Govind Dev Ji’ and attend a morning Aarti ceremony. The next stop will be the morning vegetable market before heading south to Albert Hall, which currently is a government museum. On the way we’ll make pit-stops to taste local snacks.

Late morning: Travel back overland to Delhi and connect to onward flight.

Note: If the tour package includes flights, trains, jungle safari, private monument, an extra supplement will be applicable to the child.

Payment Policy

We are offering you to pay a low down payment of just 10% to keep your place on the tour including hotel room, cruise cabin, domestic flight ticket, and other travel-related services. The remaining balance can be paid only two days prior to your arrival date or in cash upon arrival at the destination to your tour guide. This will give you the chance to book your tour with no risk or any loss.

Tour Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your booking at any time prior to commencement of the tour by notifying us in writing. The cancellation charges shall be as follows:

  • If you cancel before 45 days of tour commencement date, there will be no cancellation fees, except components which require per booking (train, flight and safaris).
  • If you cancel on or before 44-30 days of tour commencement date, 25% of the entire tour price will be charged.
  • If you cancel on or before 29-15 days of tour commencement date, 50% of the entire tour price will be charged.
  • Less than 14 Days before arrival 100% cancellation will be applicable.
Changes By You

If you request any changes to your travel arrangements once we have confirmed a booking, all out of pocket charges, including charges imposed by our suppliers, will be payable by you. If after the commencement of your tour you request any changes to your travel arrangements, we will do our best to implement them, but we cannot guarantee that it will be possible. In the event of such change(s) being made, you will be liable for any cancellation charges that may be levied for the previously booked service and for any costs incurred by us and our suppliers in attempting to secure any revised arrangements. Any name changes must be provided to us in writing and are subject to any airline/ train fees or penalties.

Passports & Visa Fees

All Passengers are responsible for securing proper documentation prior to joining the tour. Passports are required; in addition, travelers are advised to check with local consulates for full details regarding Visa requirements. Please note securing a valid visa for entry is sole responsibility of the traveler.

Flexible cancellation policy

Memphis Tours offers a very flexible cancelation policy in case the government or the airline issues a travel warning from/to your departure country and destination. In the event that this happens, we will be refunding you the amount paid in full.
