In El Gouna it is high season all year round. The USPGA-sized
18-hole championship golf course (until June 2000 2x 9-hole courses) poses a
delightful challenge to every golfer.
Whether you tee off on an early
summer morning, at midday in January, or on a late spring afternoon, the sun is
guaranteed. Even in the warm summer temperatures. El Gouna benefits from the
dry, desert climate that keeps the humidity low. And there is always a sea
breeze to keep you cool on the course.
European pros offer lessons to
beginners and seasoned golfers alike. The well equipped pro shop offers a choice
of top golf clubs for rent to those who would rather leave their clubs at home.
For those looking for a little competition, the club organizes regular
tournaments.
Gene Bates, associate of Fred Couples, designed the El Gouna
course to be accessible to every level of golfer, from the tourist who wants to
learn the game, to the advanced golfers playing in a Pro Am tournament. By
having five different tees and a careful placement of bunkers, lagoons, and
desert rough, the course plays well to every level of golfer. The winds,
predominately from the North, make certain holes that look straightforward a
challenge for every golfers. The 18 hole golf course thrills advanced as well as
beginner players. It bridges the LTI - Paradisio hotel to the Kafr El Gouna,
with a walkway meandering through the vast expanse of green.
If you need a little physical relaxation after the game, there is
health spa in the clubhouse featuring sauna, steam bath, massage and a series of
pools for simply relaxing.
Designed by Michael Graves, this clubhouse has
excellent views over the course and is located near the first tee and practice
range. It facilitates a Pro-shop and a fitness club including a well-equipped
gymnasium, 3 plunge pools, massage, sauna and a beautiful Turkish bath.
At the terrace of the Grasshoppers Bar, light snacks and drinks
are served.
The club will be available for members and hotel guests
only, although a daily fee arrangement will also be possible.
The 19th hole
Bar is integrated into the Clubhouse Restaurant with a panoramic view over the
golf course. The place to share all your golf stories with your buddies.
