Seti I

Dynasty:

King Seti I was one of the kings of the 19th dynasty .

History:

King Seti I was the son of king Ramesses I. He gained a lot of experience during his reign with his father. He followed the steps of his father as he ordered to complete what was not accomplished. He succeeded in securing the foreign relations between Egypt & Asia, so he smit the rebels in Asia and he also defeated the Bedwins in Sinai and Palestine. The situation of Egypt at that time is a quite serious because of the Indo-Europian tribes. There are some registers in the Karnak Temple telling us that king Seti I defeated these tribes. He was interested in the gold mines and he dug some wells in his way to these mines in the desert to help the desert travelers. He married his sister Toya who gave birth to two brothers , one of them was Ramesses II who was the co-regent with his father who ruled about 13 years.

Monuments:

King Seti I had many architecture achievements, as the hypostyle hall in the KarnakTemple , his mortuary temple in El-Quorna, his famous temple at Abydos as well as his tomb in the Valley of the Kings and his mummy which is preserved in the Egyptian museum . He also had a temple called "El-Radesia" temple which is situated in Wady Abad
