
Cairo Symphony Orchestra was performed in Egyptian Broadcasting some years earlier befor it called with this name in 1959.So we can say that the favour of establishing Cairo Symphony Orchestra refers to the Egyptian Broadcasting. Cairo Orchestra was developed by the music of Franz Litchauer, an Austrian conductor, and after a great effort for months, orchestra started to perform regular concerts at the old Opera House in Cairo.
The orchestra has performed under guest conductors of international caliper such as Charles Munch, Carlo Zecchi, Otokar Trihuk, Ole Schmidt and Graham Bond. From the famous conductors who have conducted Cairo Symphony Orchestra with their own works: Aram Khatschatruian, Boris Papandopulo and Ahmed Adnan Saygun. Addition to some well known soloists such as Rudolf Buchbinder, Abdel Rahman El Bacha, Jorg Damus, George Themeli, Sergio Particaroli, Ramzi Yassa, Yfrat Neamann, Josef Sivo, Lukas David, Bruno Giruanna, Andre Navara and Mstislav Rostropovitch. In short the Cairo Symphony Orchestra played a great role in promoting Egyptian musicians, composers. Soloists and conductors including the well known Egyptian names, such as Moushira Issa, Hassan Sharara, Mustafa Nagui. Youssef El Sisi, Sayed Awad among others. |
