Aswan


Location:

Aswan is Egypt's premier inter resort offering a delightful, natural beauty, a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere with a warm and dry climate.
A wide variety of ancient monuments and the peaceful beauty of the countryside draw visitors here throughout the winter months.
Lying 560 miles south of Cairo, it has long been known as the "Gate of Africa". The contact point between Arabian, North Africa and sub-Saharan cultures. Much of its charms come from the Nile River, which runs through it, as well as from a number of small lush islands in the Nile, such as " the Elephantine island " It is considered one of the oldest inhabited places in Aswan, a center of worship during the Pharaonic era .
South of Aswan stands the High Dam , one of the world's outstanding engineering features in the last century. Its construction in the early 1960 created an enormous reservoir, Lake Nasser , the largest artificial lake in the world .
Aswan today is the 3rd biggest town in Egypt and the biggest one in Upper Egypt, the city today is a major mining area for aluminum and iron. Aswan is also among the very famous cities on the map for the tourists to visit besides Cairo and luxor.




How to reach it?

By air :-
You can reach Aswan by air as it has an international airport can receive international flights as well as local domestic flight; you can fly directly to Aswan from several European town.
By Train :-
You can travel between Cairo, Aswan on 3 different types of train:
Daytime air-conditioned express trains.
Overnight deluxe sleeper train.
