
Life Ahmed Zweil is a prominent Egyptian Chemistist in the world. Ahmed Zewil was born in Damanhour, Egypt , on 26 February, 1946. Zweil is married and has four children.
Ahmed Zweil graduated from Alexandria University, Chemistry Department , then travelled to United State to complete his PhD in University of Pennsylvania. After doctorate work at California University, he was awarded a faculty appointment at Caltech in 1976. Zweil took American Nationality in 1982. Then he became the first Linus Pauling Chair in Chemical Physics in 1990.
Ahmed Zweil won the prize of Nobel in Chemistry in1999 about his work on Femto Chemistry. His prize concerns new invention femtochemistry using rapid Ultrafast Laser technique which helps on description of reaction in very short time Schedule, after that analyse transition states in chemical reactions which were be selected. Ahmed Zweil is considered the third Egyptian receive the prize of Nobel after the leader “Anwar Al Sadat in Peace in 1978”, “ Nguib Mahfouz in Literature in 1988”. Egypt awarded his son Ahmed Zweil with Egypt's highest state honour “The Grand Collar of the Nile” in 1999. Finally, he received the “Honorary Doctorate in Science” in 2006 from Cambridge University. |
