The Founder & Royal Family:

This dynasty was founded by king Teti who married from Iput I,the daughter of King Unas who was the last king of the 5th Dynasty , the historians believed that this queen gave him the royal power to legitimate his rule.

History:

Manetho mentioned that this dynasty had a Memphite origin, and apparently that is right from the great care which given to Ptah, were their centre of administration was Memphis as well. Not much is known about the changing of the pharaoh’s line from the fifth dynasty to the sixth dynasty .

The reign followed by pepy I whose reign lasted 25 years . it should be mentioned that this king was assassinated by his wife Ametes.

King pepyII was one of the famous kings in this dynasty ,as he ruled the country when he was 6 years and he died when he has 94 years. His famous belongs to the three expeditions which had been sent to Nubians and Bylbos.some historian mentioned that the old of the New kingdom belongs to the long reign of king pepyII , especially that this king was succeeded by another king who was Mr n re II, who only ruled for a short time and then queen Nit Ikrt, who ruled for two years, then the disorder occurred to give the chance for the first Intermediate period to start.
