5th Dynasty

The Founder & Royal Family:

This Dynasty was founded by King Userkaf who married Queen Khetkaus who had the ruler blood in order to make him self legitimately the right ruler infront of his nation. He get two sons Sahure and Neferirkare who ruled the country after his death.

History:

The priests of god Re succeeded in taking the throne of Egypt by the end of the 4th dynasty . We do not really have enough evidence telling us how the throne of Egypt was moved to the 5th dynasty.

During this dynasty, the priesthood of God Re started to announce a long story related to Cheops and his period and even they included the names of some of the kings who were loved and respected by the people in order to make it true. This story was written in the middle Kingdom and we received it on the Westkar Papyrus, and were called the tales of king Hwfwy and the magicians.

Sahure ascended the throne after his father, Userkaf, and maintained his reign for 14 years. It should be mentioned that this pharaoh was the first to introduce the kings of the 5th dynasty to the area of Abu Sir to be chosen for their pyramids. As well as through the reign of this king appeared for the first time the sun temples.

This dynasty ended with king Unas, the last king in the 5th dynasty. The main reason for the importance of Unas is due to the religious texts which were found in his pyramid called The Pyramid Texts, which were never written on the walls of the pyramids before him.
