
The Founder & Royal Family: King Djoser was the founder who was probably the son of one of the rulers of the second dynasty which made him ascended the throne and legitimates his rule. According to the Turin King list, Djoser ruled for approximately 19 years while manetho stated in his records that this pharaoh ruled for 29 years.
History:
The third dynasty was the beginning of the Old Kingdom in ancient Egypt which lasted till the sixth dynasty. The most famous kings in this dynasty was king Djoser because of his step pyramidwhich considered the first building pyramid through the life of ancient Egyptians. This step pyramid was built by the architect Imhotep. Then Sekhemet ascended the throne after king Djoser whose reign laster for 6 years the Architect Imhotep designed for him complex to the North-West of that of his predecessor but it was found uncompleted according to the short reign of this king. While king Huni is considered as the last king of the 3rd Dynasty.Turin king list recorded that the reign of this king lasted for 24 years. It should be mentioned that small pyramids built by Huni have been found scattered throughout Egypt. The nature of these pyramids is not fully understood, but they appear to be related to royal estates and domains, the means by which the central government was able to exert economical control over the entire country.
