The Founder & Royal Family

The dynasty that seems to have supplanted the 8th dynasty is extremely obscure. It was mentioned in Manetho's description that Akhtoy I is the founder of this dynasty.

History:

By the end of the 8th dynasty , this dynasty begins to appear, due to obscure reasons. In the Turin list and contemporary objects only some royal names survive, but unfortunately only one fragment can be understand. It was mention that Akhtoy is the person who wrought evil things for those in Egypt special and also he take over by the ruler of Herakleopolis

Akhtoy may have initially gained power as far as Aswan in the South, but the Herakleopolitans' rule seems after a while to have become restricted to the territory north of the area of Abydos, the southern nomes banding together under the leadership of the hitherto-minor city of Thebes. The accession of Inyotef I as king of upper Egypt is generally taken as marking the division between 9th Dynasty & the 10th Dynasty.

Until now there isn?t any evidence prove which dynasty he represent but some historian believe that he is from the 10th Dynasty , other believe that he is from the 11th dynasty.

This dynasty came to an end for unknown reason by Akhtoy, the last king ruled the 10th dynasty.
