Day 1: Arrival, Istanbul City Tour
You will be met by your guide at Istanbul International Airport and transfer to your hotel by private vehicle. Check into your hotel with some time to relax. In the mid-afternoon, you will begin your half-day tour of the wonderful highlights of Istanbul. First you will visit the Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum situated in the historical palace of Ibrahim Pasha, next to the Blue Mosque. Next, you will visit the Underground Cistern.The 336 beautiful columns that support the cistern were salvaged from pagan temples destroyed during the Roman Empire's conversion to Christianity. At the end of the day, you will return to your hotel.
Day 2 Friday: Istanbul Old City
After breakfast, meet your guide in the hotel lobby for your full-day tour of Istanbul and surroundings. After breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up by your English speaking guide to visit the Byzantine Hippodrome, where you will see its famous Egyptian Obelisk, the Obelisk of Constantine, the Serpentine Column and the German Fountain. Then, you will proceed to the Blue Mosque. The blue iznik tiles covering the walls lend the mosque its name. Next, you will visit one of the most famous buildings in the world: Hagia Sophia. Finally, enjoy an orientation drive around the Old City, as well as the newer sections of Istanbul. Continue to the famous Grand Bazaar to end the day shopping in its over 3,500 shops. A variety of Turkish handicrafts, oriental carpets, rare jewels and inexpensive souvenirs are all sold in its small shops. At the end of the day, you will return to your hotel.
Day 3: Final Departure
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel then transfer to your ship in the afternoon. End of our service.
