Memphis Tours will take you on a private tour to visit the Temple of Artemis, the Basilica of St. John and Selcuk Isa Bey Mosque. These three structures represent some of the most impressive architecture from three different important periods of Turkey’s history.
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kusadasi around 08:00 AM to begin your day of touring. First you will visit the Basilica of St. John, who is believed to have come to this area with Mary after the death of Jesus Christ to live out their lives and write his gospel. Isa Bey Mosque stands very close to St. John Basilica. It is a beautiful example of Seljukian architecture, such has pendant domes decorated with painted tiles, stalactite forms in the window moldings with arabesque motifs, and adorned with coloured stones and painted tiles. Some of the columns of this mosque were taken from the Temple of Artemis. After visiting the mosque, you will continue to the Selcuk Museum, which holds the finest archaeological artifacts discovered during the excavation of Ephesus. Finally, your guide will take you to visit the ruins of the Temple of Artemis, which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Before the end of the tour, you will visit a handicraft center for a presentation about authentic Turkish arts and then your guide will return you to your hotel in Kusadasi.

Best Time to Visit Turkey
Spring and autumn are the ideal times to visit Istanbul and the inland regions. The Aegean and Mediterranean coasts are typically like the Mediterranean climate with mild winters and hot summers. As you travel further east in Turkey the extremes in climate become more pronounced with very hot and dry summers reaching highs of 40°C and bitterly cold winters with heavy snowfall.
