Leaving your hotel in Izmir at 08:00, your guide will first take you approximately 45 minutes south to the Temple of Artemis to visit the ruins of the legendary site, which has been an inspiration throughout the Mediterranean region up until modern times. Continue on to the ruins of the city of Ephesus, Turkey greatest outdoor museum, where you will spend the rest of the day visiting this huge complex of ruins. The number of sites that you will see at Ephesus cannot be listed here, but it is certain to be memorable day Turkey’s greatest outdoor museum. The highlights include the Temple of Hadrian, the Fountain of Trajan, the Grand Theatre, and countless other monuments from over 5000 years of history in Ephesus that includes Ancient Greek and Roman influences, as well as an important place in the history of early Christianity. After your tour of Ephesus, you will visit the House of the Virgin Mary, which is where St. John is thought to have brought Mary after the death of Jesus Christ. She lived her life out in this small house on Bulbuldagi Mountain. At the end of the tour, you will have a chance to visit the Turkish crafts center to shop and learn about the products produced in the region. Your guide will then return you to your hotel in Izmir.
