Memphis Tours representative will meet & greet you at Port Said to enjoy a shore excursion and day trip from Port Said to Cairo, approximately 2 ½ hours by a luxurious air-conditioned vehicle.
First pay a visit to Salah El Din Citadel which was constructed by Salah El Din on the Moqattam hills in 1183 AD to defend Cairo from the armies of Crusaders. After that visit Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque which was designed by the architect Yousif Boushnaq, a Turkish man who came especially from Istanbul and built this great mosque for Mohamed Ali, the ruler of Egypt (1805-1849) who ruled Over 45 years. Continue through the down town of Cairo. Then move to the famous Egyptian Museum, housing the largest collection of Egyptian artifacts in the world, including the magnificent treasures of the boy King, Tutankhamun.
Buffet lunch will be served before you arrive at Giza Plateau. Then You will see the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. Then proceed to visit the Great Sphinx, the head of a pharaoh with a lion's body, which dates back to the time of Chephren; the tour also includes a visit to the Valley Temple, which belongs to the Pyramids of Chephren.
A short time will be spent at an oriental shop where a demonstration will take place introducing you to the art of paper making from reeds, discovered by the Ancient Egyptians. Limited time for souvenir shopping will be allowed before you return to Port Said.
