DAY 1: ABU DHABI or DUBAI (ARRIVAL)

Arrive in the Emirates at Abu Dhabi or Dubai International Airports. A Memphis Tours representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Check in and spend the rest of the day relaxing and recovering from your trip.

DAY 2: ABU DHABI (70 km)

Have breakfast at your hotel before your guide meets you for a tour of Abu Dhabi, the largest city in the United Arab Emirates. First, you will visit the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which is one of the largest religious spaces in the world. Then you will continue to downtown Abu Dhabi, passing through the historic Old City and Al-Husn Palace. At Heritage Village you will visit a museum to learn about traditional life in the Emirates before the discovery of oil and their rapid development over the past several decades. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will take a drive down the Abu Dhabi Corniche, giving you a great view of the city, its skyline, and a Persian Gulf. You will have the option of stopping for tea at the Emirates Palace Hotel before continuing to Saadiyat Island where Abu Dhabi’s Louvre and Guggenheim museums are under construction. The last stop on your tour will be the Yas Island Formula 1 Racing Park and the Ferrari Theme Park. After touring the museum there you will head to dinner at a traditional Arab restaurant before your guide returns you to your hotel for the evening.

DAY 3: MUSCAT – NIZWA - JABREEN – BAHLA – AL HAMRA – NIZWA [250 km]

You will have breakfast at the hotel before departing for Nizwa in Oman. Nizwa was the medieval capital of Oman and retains its charm as an enduring reminder of traditional Oman. On the way you will also visit to the fortress of Jabreen, which dates back to 1670. It is considered by many to be the most impressive of all the forts in Oman. After a tour, you will also stop by the fortress of Bahla, which is now under renovation by the UNESCO. Continue to the palm groves at Al Hamra and then stop in the village of Misfah for a traditional Omani lunch. After lunch you will arrive in Nizwa to visit the 17th century round tower fort and the bustling souk known for its silver and copper handicrafts. You will stay overnight in a hotel in Nizwa.

DAY 4: NIZWA – WAHIBA [250 km] - 4WD

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before setting off for the dunes of Wahiba. Along the way you will make several stops, including in the village of Mudairib and in Wadi Bani Khaled. Mudairib is a charming village where much of the traditional Omani architecture still stands. Wadi Bani Khaled is a beautiful valley oasis surrounded by rocky mountains. You will have a chance to explore the area on foot and relax next to the springs that feed this beautiful valley. After a simple lunch in a local restaurant, you will continue to Al Wasil on the edge of Wahiba Sands to camp overnight. Wahiba is still home to several thousand bedouin, who have lived in this desert region for thousands of years. Famous for their hospitality, they will host you at the campsite and show you a bit about their way of life. Omani coffee, fresh fruits and water will greet you on arrival and then you will be taken out onto the towering dunes in a 4x4. At night we will enjoy a moonlight dinner at the camp under the stars and spend the night.
* During the WINTER (from 01 OCT until 30 MAY) the overnight will be in Wahiba Sands
* During the SUMMER (from 01 JULY until 30 SEP) the overnight will be in SUR, due to closure of campsite in Wahiba.

DAY 5: WAHIBA SANDS OR NIZWA – SUR - RAS AL HADD [200km ] – By Coach

After breakfast in camp, you will set out for the seaside village of Sur, which is full of activity from the port and the fishermen that live there. On the way you will stop at Jaalan Bani abu Hassan Castle. Arriving in Sur you will be able to admire this traditional fishing village, as well as the shipyard where traditional dhows (omani fishing boats) are still built. After lunch in Sur, you will visit Bilad Castle and then continue toward Ras Al Hadd to stay overnight. After dinner in your hotel you will have the chance to visit one of the nearby beaches in a sea turtle nature preserve to see the turtles laying their eggs and the hatchlings making their way to the sea. Overnight in Ras Al Hadd.

DAY 6: RAS AL HADD - QALHAT – MUSCAT [340 km]

After breakfast at the hotel, your guide will take you toward Muscat along the coast. On the way you will stop at Qalhat and several other places of interest. Qalhat served as an important stop in the Indian Ocean trade network and was also the second city of the Kingdom of Ormus. Artifacts from as far away as Persia and China were found here. From Qalhat your guide will take you to the Bimah Sinkhole for a swim and you will have a simple picnic lunch somewhere along the road. Finally you will stop in the fishing village of Quriyat before reaching Muscat where you will have the evening to relax in your hotel.

DAY 7: MUSCAT to MUSSANDAM ( BY FERRY ) [300 km]

You will relax for the morning at your hotel before checking out round 12:00 to head to the port to board the ferry from Muscat. The ferry will take you 6 hours to Khasab in the Mussandam Peninsula, which is an exclave of Oman. Khasab was built by the Portuguese at the beginning of the 17th century when their navy controlled the region. Unlike many forts, which were built on high ground for defensive purposes, Khasab was designed as a supply point for Portuguese ships sailing through the Strait of Hormuz. After arriving and passing through the immigration checkpoint, our representative will meet you and take you to your hotel for dinner and an evening spent relaxing.

N.B: A maximum of 37 Kilos of luggage is allowed on the ferry. The ferry rons on Wednesday and Sunday. 

DAY 8: KHASAB [50 km]

After breakfast you will head to the harbour to board a traditional dhow to spend the day on the water exploring the spectacular ‘fjords of Musandam’. You will see villages dotted along the beautiful coastline and you will have the chance to see humpback dolphins playing around the boat. The dhow will anchor in a suitable place, where you can swim and snorkel and a lunch buffet will be served. In the afternoon you will return to Khasab and your hotel for the evening.

N.B: Musandam cruise is subject to weather conditions and clients should carry passport during the cruise.
DAY 09: KHASAB – RAS AL KHAIMAH – SHARJAH – Dubai [300 km]
After breakfast you will proceed by car back into the Emirates. After crossing the border, you will proceed through several of the smaller emirates to Sharjah. Lunch will be served enroute and then you will take a tour of Sharjah, known as the “cultural capital of the Emirates”. You will visit the Sharjah's Museum of Islamic Civilization and the Souq al-Majarrah. You will also stop at the famous Souk Al Arsa, the oldest souk in the UAE. The day will also take you to the Blue Souk, which hosts over 600 different merchants offering their goods. Finally, you will drive to Dubai along the corniche road where you will check in to your hotel overnight.

DAY 10: DUBAI [70 km]

After breakfast you will begin a tour of Dubai. Dubai, developed from a small fishing village before oil was discovered into the metropolis that stands there today with towering skyscrapers and glamorous shopping malls. You will visit the Grand Mosque of Jumeirah and then stop by the Burj al Arab hotel to take pictures before continuing down the corniche through the Jumeirah Beach area. You will also stop near the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.  Photo stop of Burj Al Arab hotel. Photo stop of the Atlantis hotel located at crescent of Palm Jumeirah. The tour will then take you to Bastakyia, the old district of Dubai, to visit the Dubai museum in the ancient fortress of Al-Fahidi to learn about traditional life in the emirate. Then you will take a water taxi down Dubai Creek towards the district of Deira and the Spice and Gold Souks. Afterward, you will have the option (pre-booking required) of going to the top of the Burj Khalifa. Lunch will be served near the musical fountains of Dubai Mall. In the afternoon you will be taken into the desert around the city in a 4x4 vehicle. Your driver will take you speeding through the dunes for a ride that is full of excitement before you finally reach a camp in the desert. After watching the sunset over the dunes, you will be served a barbecue dinner prepared on the open fire. There will also be entertainment with belly dancing and Arabic music. After the show, you will be taken back to the city and returned to your hotel for the evening.

DAY 11: DUBAI - AL AIN – ABU DHABI [300km]

After breakfast, depart for the oasis city of Al Ain in the Hajjar Mountains. Al Ain is one of the oldest cities in the UAE. For thousands of years the oasis of Al Ain was an important caravan stop on the trade routes across Arabia. You will visit the camel market, the largest in the UAE, and Al Ain Palace. The Palace is also the birthplace of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Next you will visit of the Jahili fort. After lunch, you will continue to the National Museum of Al Ain. In the afternoon, visit the Hilli Gardens, which are the site of an archeological excavations from the third millennium B.C. Afterward you will continue Abu Dhabi to check into your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening.

DAY 12: ABU DHABI [70km]

Breakfast at your hotel. Departure for Abu Dhabi city tour, the largest and the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. This comprehensive tour is the ideal introduction to the UAE capital and the island on which it stands. The name Abu Dhabi means: “Father of the Gazelle”. Our first stop will be at Sheikh Zayed Grand mosque, one of the largest Mosques in the world; able to accommodate more than 30,000 worshipers. The beautiful Mosque is completely clad in marble and also features intricate Islamic decoration and carvings as well as extensive landscaping works. We will continue our tour towards Abu Dhabi downtown. Will pass through the old city or what we consider OLD today and pass by the oldest building in town, the palace of Al-Husn (closed for renovation). We will then proceed to Heritage Village, which houses a small museum and depicts the traditional daily activities of the Arab community prior to the discovery of oil. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will drive along the spectacular Corniche, past gleaming white mosques, glass-clad offices and elegant high-rise apartments to the tip of the breakwater for a superb view of the city’s magnificent skyline. A Tea Stop will be proposed (optional) at the famous Emirates Palace hotel, which was built with an investment of 1 billion USD in 2005. The remaining part of the afternoon will be devoted to drive through the famous giant Saadiyat Island project where the LOUVRE museum and GUGGENHEIM museums are being built to complete the image of ABU DHABI as a cultural city. The tour will continue towards the famous Yas Island which houses the FORMULA 1 YAS circuit & the first attraction park of Ferrari in the world. An impressive attraction park, the largest covered air conditioned park in the world with a huge RED FERRARI sign as landmark . Dinner in a traditional restaurant to enjoy the evening in the Capital . Mezzes and grilled meat will be on the menu. Overnight in Abu Dhabi.

DAY 13: ABUDHABI or DUBAI (DEPARTURE)

Breakfast at your hotel you will check out and you will be taken to either Abu Dhabi or Dubai Airport to fly home.
