Memphis Tours driver will pick you up from Muscat Port to experience Nizwa & Jebel Shams. On this tour you discover the beauty of the interior regions of Oman and visit Nizwa, the capital of the country in the medieval ages. The oasis city of Nizwa was once the capital of Julanda Dynasty in the 6th and 7th Century AD. Today it remains as the most popular tourist attractions with its historical buildings and imposing fort. Visit the Nizwa fort with its enormous round tower built in the 17th century by Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Ya” Aruba to defend the route to the interior. The fort dominates the entire area, with the town having grown around the edifice. Access to the top is only by means of a narrow twisting staircase barred by heavy wooden doors, studded with metal. From the top of the tower one can get a bird’s eye view of the Nizwa city. From here you will proceed to the Nizwa Souq which is renowned for its intricately hand-carved Khanjar and ornately designed silver jewellery.
Then drive to Wadi Muaydin and discover the magnificent surroundings and traditional villages. The next stop will be Jebel Akhdar where the climate is more like Mediterranean and fruits, roses and vegetables are growing. Visit Diana’s Viewpoint and other highlights of Jebel Akhdar. On the way back to Muscat you will stop at the village of Birkat al Mauz. You have time to stroll around thru the old ruins and along the Falaj system. This tour requires moderate activity, including some short walks. After that back to the Port .

Oman’s climate is typical of the Arabian Peninsula with blisteringly hot summers and Mediterranean winters. During the summer months almost the entire country is hot; the thermometer can often nudge up into the 40°C. The winter months are pleasantly temperate, daytime temperatures rarely climbing much above 30°C. Temperatures are considerably cooler in the mountains than on the coast
