Morocco High Atlas Trekking & Adventure tour for 2 weeks hiking and camping in the beautiful High Atlas Mountains of Morocco. You will camp under the stars and stay in local houses as you travel through the mountains on foot, visiting Berber villages and medieval kasbahs along the way. Equipment and belongings will be transported by mules, leaving you with nothing to do, but enjoy the scenery.

Day 01: Arrival Marrakech

A driver from Memphis Tours will meet you at Marrakech Airport to take you to your hotel in a deluxe, air-conditioned vehicle. Check into your room. Dinner and overnight in Marrakech.

Day 02: Marrakech -Aït Bougmez

After breakfast at hotel, you will be picked up by an English speaking driver to depart for the Valley Aît Bougmez, located 250 km from Marrakech at 1900 m altitude. (4 hours hiking). Overnight in a private local house in Agouti (1800m).

Day 03: Aït Bougmez -Agouti -Tafenfent

After breakfast, you will enter the Valley of Arous, passing through the village of Aît Said as you hike. Spend the day hiking through beautiful forests and enjoying sunning scenery on the way to the Tafenfent Plateau (2350m). Overnight camping.

Day 04:Tafenfent Plateau (2350m)-fri N’Ait Khalfella

After breakfast, set out for the traditional village of Ifri N’Ait Khalfella (2161m) and then continue to Tazzite where you will stay near an our sheepfold used by Moroccan herders. Overnight camping.

Day 05:Tazzite-Tizi-N’Aghouri-Plateau of Tarkeddit

Climb towards the spring of Tassaout via the Pass of Aghouri (3350m), arriving around midday at  the Plateau of Tarkeddit (2900m), where the shepherds of Tessaout valley and the nomads of Ait Atta from Mount Sargho come to graze their flocks. In the afternoon, relax and enjoy exploring the area by yourself. Overnight under tent at the foot of M’Goun.

Day 06: Plateau of Tarkeddit-M’Goun- Ifri N’Ait Hamou

After having crossed the Tizi Oumsoud (2969m), we will climb towards M’Goun summit. Arriving to the summit (4068 m), you will be able to enjoy the splendid panoramic view of the area. In the evening after descending from the summit, you will overnight camping next to the caves of Ait Hamou. (7h30 hiking). The ascension of M’Goun is optional.

Day 07: Ifri N’Ait Hamou -Tichka

After crossing 2 small cals, we will head down towards the valley below Mount M’Goun. You are sure to enjoy the peaceful beauty of the valley as we hike down. Overnight in Tichka (2242m).
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 08: Tichka -Oued M’Goun

There will be a sudden change in the landscape after crossing the gorges. You will have kasbahs built from the red earth. In Amegag we will cross a large cultivated plain before reaching flowered gorges at L’Oued M’Goun (1600m). You will see some of the most beautiful and least visited villages of the High Atlas. (6 hours hiking). Overnight next to at the foot of Mount M’Goun.

Day 09: Oued M’Goun (1600m)-Ighrem Aqdin

We will reach the superb village of Ighrem Aqdin (1650m) which boasts a magnificent collective storehouse. Overnight camping.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 10: Ighrem - Aqdin-Gorges of M’Goun

Finally we will reach the Gorges of M’Goun (1850m), where we will hike through the afternoon along the narrow streams. Camping overnight at the foot of the high cliffs of the gorges.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 11: Gorges of M’Goun -Tachrafte

Continuing through the gorge, we will enter its narrowest stretches, where you might almost be able to touch both walls of the gorge. Reach Tachrafte in the afternoon. (5 hours hiking). Overnight at Tachrafte.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 12: Tachrafte -Ifri N’Oukhlifa

We will continue our climb of the Assif M’Goun after crossing a small empty plateau. Spend the night camping next to the caves of Oukhlifa (2500m), which are used as refuges for sheep herds during storms. (5 hours hiking).

Day 13: Ifri N’Ouhklifa -Tizi Ait Imi -Agouti

We will reach the Ait Bougmez at the village of Agouti (1800m) by crossing the Tizi Ait Imi (2095m). Night in a private local house.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 14: Back to Marrakech

After breakfast, a car will pick you up to transfer you back to Marrakech. Spend the afternoon touring the city with our guide to discover the monuments, souks (markets) and medina (old city). Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 15: Final Departure

Breakfast and transfer to Marrakech Airport for final departure
