Day Trip to the Middle Atlas from Fez to discover the towns of Sefrou and Bahalil. Sefrou and Bhalil are famous for their unique and traditional architecture. The old city of Sefrou still has the feel of a Moroccan town of the past and in Bhalil you will be able to see the beautiful cave-houses & more.
Your English speaking tour guide and driver will pick you up at 8 am and take for touring two towns in the Middle Atlas including Sefrou and Bahalil. Drive to Sefrou, also known as the white city, located about 800 m above sea level. It is a picturesque mountain village, where you will be able to stroll around and take in the elegance of this old city. The character of Sefrou is shaped by its Jewish and Arab history. Because of its remoteness, Sefrou has been a famous place for anthropological research and remains a widely untouched and thus very original Moroccan town. Sefrou is furthermore famous for its cherry festival in June. After visiting Sefrou, you will drive to Bahlil, which is 6 km northwest of Sefrou. The village of Bhalil is notable for its unique cave houses located in the old part of the village, and for its eclectically coloured homes, linked together by a network of bridges. Bhalil is furthermore known for its traditional pottery techniques and design patterns as well as its olive oil production. When visiting the village, you will get a taste of these old traditions and the life-styles they imply. Sefrou and Bhalil are perfect places if you want to get to know the roots of Moroccan culture and life. They remain off the beaten track and thus offer unique insights into this country's rich culture. Finally you will be transferred back to your hotel in Fez. This trip takes around 7 hours.
