Hello my name is Ahmed,
I am one of the academic Egyptologists, and licensed tour guide since 2004. I was born in Assuit, the middle of Upper Egypt the land of history .I like reading all kinds of books which navigate you through history ,also I like art and fishing. I am proud of being Egyptian ,especially after the revolution. So, I invite the whole world to come to Egypt through the proficiency of Memphis Tours Team.
- Graduated from the faculty of Archeology. ( Cairo University)
- Diploma of Tourism management and guidness .( Helwan University)
- Working as a Tour Guide since 2004
- This shore excursion was part of our Honeymoon cruise. I took this shore excursion rather than the ones offered by the cruise mainly because of the price difference (half the price). A coworker took this same tour a year before I visited Egypt and he highly recommended it.
Ahmed Mohammed is very knowledgably and speaks good English and Spanish. Ahmed Mohsen doesn't speak English or Spanish but he communicated very well with us through his wonderful music and gestures :) We had so much fun on our four-hour road trip from Alexandria to Cairo, we got to learn their music and had all our thousand questions answered.

I wanted to thank Memphis Tours for making this holiday really enjoyable! I love Egypt and have visited 9 times (this was my 5th time in Cairo) but my two girlfriends had never been to Egypt and were slightly apprehensive about going after the recent political unrest. However, we had nothing to worry as Memphis Tours took care of that and organised everything from smooth airport transfers and some fantastic excursions which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Ahmed our tour guide was very knowledgeable and we really enjoyed both the pyramids tours and coptic cairo tours with him. Ahmed explained everything clearly and gave us all so much information about the places we visited and advised us on other activities we wanted to do whilst in Cairo. He was so patient with the 3 of us, taking our pictures and holding our bags! My friends and I really enjoyed the Nile dinner cruise excursion, the live music, food and oriental show was superb. The boat is fantastic and beats other Nile dinner cruises I have been on in the past.

I booked a 4 day private tour of the area surrounding Cairo with a side trip to Alexandria. I have been to Europe more than 40 times for business and vacation, but this was the first time in the Middle East. Let me begin by dispelling any notion you might have that this trip is in any way dangerous or intimidating. Just the opposite, from the minute I was picked up by Amad El Sayed at the airport-on time and exactly where he was supposed to be-I felt like I was in good hands. When we reached the hotel, Ahamd took the time to go to the front desk with me and would not leave until the room key was in my hand. Excellent service.
Since I had flown directly from Newark, through Frankfurt, I took a day off in between to get some rest and time to explore the hotel.
On the second day, at exactly 8:30 am my guide for the week. Ahmed M. Kamel appreared. From this time forth he was my constant guide as well as the same excellent driver. Ahmed proved to be a huge reservoir of information, not only on ancient Egypt, but also,Arabic culture, art, music, world affairs-you name it-he was well versed in the subject.
I'm not going to bore you with blow by blow descriptions, suffice to say I was treated in an extremely courteous and mannerly stlye that made the trip a true pleasure.

For anyone new to Egypt, I would unequivocally recommend Memphis Tours. They were very well organized, professional, and friendly. Not once did I feel uncomfortable even though I had never been to Africa or a Muslim nation. And know I have a great deal of respect for Egyptologists. I thought it was a glorified name but these tour guides can answer any question you might have, and did a great job of explaining Egyptian history & culture. My guide was Ahmed Kamel (English and Spanish offered); all other contacts with Memphis were also extremely professional and friendly.
You can do as much or as little as you like with the company and the prices were very reasonable. There is a car always waiting for you, plenty of water is supplied, and meal breaks are planned. And you're picked up and dropped off whereever you want to be. The employees did really seem to care whether I had a good time or not. I'd recommend Memphis Tours to anyone, and will use them again if I make it back to Egypt.

We recently went on a tour for a week that included Cairo and a Nile Cruise. We loved Cairo, and although the hotel was a little far from the centre of town (Grand Pyramids), it was just right for us. It was a nice hotel and our room looked out onto the Pyramids. Big tip though - don't use the hotel taxis - they were rude and very expensive. We just walked out the front of the hotel and found a load of taxis willing to drive us to the same place for a third of the cost of the hotel taxi.
We also really loved our tour guide in Cairo - Ahmed Kamel (I think I have the spelling right). He was considerate, knowledgable and fun to be with. Although it was a shame we ran out of time at the end of the day and only had an hour at the Museum - suggest you start the Cairo tour as early as possible. Our other general guide for Cairo (who picked us up from the airport) was not nearly as professional - he didnt seem like he wanted to be there and didn't even like Egypt as a country - not really what you want on holidays! He also gave us our mobile phone (as part of the tour) but the battery was flat and he gave us the wrong charger. When we asked him about it, he shrugged and said it should work on the Nile Cruise boat?! But he was ok compared to our guide in Aswan and Luxor!
