We arrived in Alexandria Port on Brilliance of the Seas on November 30. I had booked this trip independently as it was the same itinerary as the one offered by Royal Caribbean, but was a lot better value. From the minute we booked the trip online, until the minute we were dropped off we were looked after well by the company, Ahab our guide and our driver Waleed. Ahab and Waleed made our trip such fun and they did everything they could to ensure we saw all the attractions we wanted to at the best times for pictures and to avoid crowds. The many busloads from the ship didn't see everything they were due to as there had been hold-ups due to foggy weather and various other reasons that arise when large crowds travel together, but we had no issues as once our private car (just my husband and I plus Ahab & Waleed) picked us up, we were able to avoid the long tail backs of traffic as we got off to a speedy start. When we stopped for a toilet break, Waleed actually gave us coins to tip the toilet attendents, he bought us each a chocolate bar, and when I realised I had forgotten a hair brush, he bought me one along the way and was reluctant to take any money towards it... way beyond the call of duty. Ahab was a great guide who ensured we missed nothing. It was really wonderful having a personal guide for the whole trip as I know how difficult it is when you are in a large group trying to hear and see everything. It meant he had time to answer all our queries and also he was great taking pictures of us, also knowing where was the best vantage points. Everywhere we went he managed to bypass long lines of people and the result was a fantastic trip. I also felt we had less hassle from local hawkers as Ahab was able to tell them we were not interested in buying. The Movenpick Cairo was a super choice of hotel with everything we could have possibly wanted. Our lunch stops for the two days were very nice, well chosen restaurants, with traditional Egyptian food and at no time were we worried about the standard of food and hygiene of either of the Restaurants. Memphis also arranged our visit to the Sound and Light show at the Pyramids in the evening, and the big advantage came as we were leaving along with the masses. Most were large groups travelling in a bus, whereas my husband and I met with Ahab and were inside our car literally inside 5 minutes and we arrived at the hotel minutes after the completion of the light show. This was a big plus after such a full day, and we had plenty of time to relax over a nice meal. The second day was once again a packed one, at each stop we avoided long lines and Ahab managed to get us into the busiest areas qithout any hassle. He spoke great English and took a lot of care answering any queries we had. We had a terrific time and I would have no hesitation recommending the company. Very professional from start to finish. Well done Memphis Tours I could not fault anything. Kind regards and thanks again Lynn McNeill (Ireland)
