As a world traveler who has never done a "guided" tour and pride myself on being able to navigate my way around cities & situations no matter the language, I was thrilled with my experience with Memphis Tours and very grateful I had chosen to have someone else make all the arrangements. From the time our plane touched down til our sad goodbyes, the personable & very professional tour rep, Mohammed Elrefaay made our transitions smooth & hassle free. We stayed at the Marriott which was lovely. When we awoke from our naps, Mohammed & our driver took us to the Islamic Market, Cairo Tower, & on a traditional boat ride (Faruka?). Smoking from the huka pipe made for memorable pictures! Our guide at the pyramids, Ayman Elshafie, rivaled seeing the Sphinx as one of our trip highlights. He was very personable, his love of the history of Egypt came through. He has a PhD in Egyptology & was a great expert to have. Prepare yourself for the heat in Luxor. At times, I had a hard time enjoying the sites, but our guide came through with bottles of water. Our excursion out into the white desert was not to be missed. We camped out under the stars. As much as I enjoyed the sites, history & attractions, it was the bonds & friendships made with our Egyptian guides & drivers that really enriched the trip. Everyone at Memphis tours, from our emails with Marwa beforehand, to the fabulous guides & drivers (Magdi, we could use your driving skills in Boston traffic!), to our facebook friendships after the trip. . .I strongly recommend Memphis Tours!
