My boyfriend and I went to Egypt for 2 weeks and had a custom tour with Memphis Tours for the trip. We had a great time and appreciated the fact that Memphis Tours representatives were always present to help with the language and logistics (checking into the hotel, determining the gate at the airport for our flights, helping with luggage, etc). We were also very impressed by the depth of knowledge that the tour guides had - we had arrived in Egypt with a solid foundation of knowledge, but learned a great deal when we were there. Our tour advisor, Abdo really helped planning the trip and was able to accomodate the several itinerary changes we requested while we were in Egypt. The trip was exactly what we asked for each day. Also, we really enjoyed the food in Egypt. A few city-specific comments: Cairo -- We really liked the hotel (Marriott), drivers and tour guide, Tarek. One of the best tours there was the dune buggy tour in the desert and out to the pyramids... we had a great time! Luxor -- The hotel was mediocre (Steigenburger). The driver and tour guide in Luxor were good and the driver and tour guide to Aswan were both great - Philae Isand is a must-see. Alexandria -- The driver and tour guide (same, Tarek) were great.
