We got back safely to NZ with the prospect of returning to work. Oh well holidays must come to an end one day!
I'll be putting up a posting about Memphis on the Tripadvisor site. Here is a copy of it...
"My wife and I booked a 7 day tour with Memphis that included the sights in Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simble, the Bahariya Oasis and Western Desert. We found all the people we dealt with to be flexible and very willing to accommodate our needs. For example my wife's flight was cancelled so she arrived a day late but our schedule was reorganized to accommodate a new itinerary.
The guides were knowledgeable and easy to understand.
We were interested in experiencing the 'grass-routes' Egyptian culture and in the Oasis we were treated to a visit to the home of one of the friends of the company representatives. We consider ourselves to be very fortunate to have had this opportunity for a behind-the-scenelook into Egyptian life.
If the number of photographs taken in a particular place is ameasure of our interest then the Western Desert easily takes first prize. Camping the night in the White desert was a very special experience and one we will treasure forever.
In summary I have no hesitation in recommending Memphis we could not have seen so much of Egypt in such a short space of time without their superb organization. They certainly took all the hassle out of our whistle-stop tour of Egypt and 'went the extra mile' to make sure we were comfortable and safe.
This post would not be complete without a special mention of Zizou, our tour leader. He's not only a very well organized professional who understands what customer service is, but is also a genuinely nice person and a great travel companion.
