It is a customary attitude for expressing ones satisfaction of good services rendered to him by staff on duty with him. We advise if you are willing to offer it, this would be great and if not, you are not obliged to do it.
All guides are very professionals, very friendly and with an excellent Spanish, they help you in every single aspect of your trip.
Congratulation to this great team, I will definitely use Memphis Tour again.
Ahmed Fayez coped admirably with my demandingness and was able to create the perfect programme.
On arrival in Cairo, though very late their agent, Hussein Zakaria was there to greet us with a warm smile, a bottle of water, and guided us to the limousine to take us to our first hotel. Here he relieved us of all checking in responsibilities, allowing us to simply catch our breath and relax !
Early start for the first excursion the next morning our delightful and knowledgeableguide, Amany met us in the hotel lobby and whisked us into our private limousine driven ably by Sayed for 2 days of exciting, informative and entertaining hard-core sightseeing !
And so it continued, through a flight to Luxor where we were met by, boarding first a nile cruise in the luxurious Sonesta Nile Goddess, then at Aswan transferred again by limousine to across the desert to Abu Simbel, boarding the equally luxurious Prince Abbas. 2nights at the fabulous Movenpick hotel with a quickly reorganised tour of some of Aswan's delights, courtesy of Mustafa Osman. Then back to Luxor, and again reorganised sight-seeing at very short notice. Here we were led by the delightfully knowledgeable Najla, who first took us to Abydos and Dendara and then guided us around the lesser sites of the Theban necropolis.
Throughout nothing was too much trouble, all our needs were comprehensively met (and always with a smile !), we were always transferred in private limousine and throughout every change was completely stress free !
I cannot thank Memphis and its wonderful staff enough ! I WILL be back !
Througout our stay onboard the St George, we had a lot of sightseeing trips, all organized by Memphis Tours and led by our very enthusiastic guide, Ahmed El Prince. The sights in Egypt are impressive no matter what, but with the help of Ahmed we were able to understand some of the symbology and it made it so much more interesting. Ahmed even gave us lectures on ancient Egyptian Mythology and we were just awestruck by his tales.
All in all, an excellent trip made even better by Ahmed.
Right from the initial ‘live chat’ via their website with Abdo and our initial greeting from a rather sharply dressed Tour Leader, Hamada (who was rather easy on the eye, much to my wife’s content), in Cairo through to the final wave goodbye to our Luxor tour leader, Ruby (who taught us some ‘interesting’ Arabic words to use at the markets!), we were well looked after from beginning to end.
The team were very flexible with our chopping and changing the itinerary several times at the last minute. We were a little apprehensive given the recent political climate but found the limited tourists made the sites much more pleasant to visit with no queues or waiting time.
The tour guides were very knowledgeable and, of course, the advantage of personal guides is the ability to ask a multitude of questions. The only constructive feedback I would leave would be in Cairo where we felt that our Guide was conducting the tour as if we were in a group of 20 and following a set script. Nevertheless, the information was excellent and everything ran like clockwork. We were particularly impressed by our Aswan Guide, Hassan, who spent an hour haggling down a statue of Akhenaten we fell in love with to a very reasonable price. All the guides had degrees in Egyptology and had a clear passion around the subject. Our tour guide, Nabil, spent 30min giving us the background in Valley of the Kings before we even set foot in any of the sites which really enriched our experience.
A special thanks to both Hamada and Ruby for giving us a fantastic holiday we will remember for years to come.
Our overall impression of Egypt could not be better and we will definitely return for a longer tour with none other than Memphis tours! I've written a detailed review below, but have also given ratings here (for the people who don't like reading much :P)
Egypt= 5* Stunning, beautiful and magical land! A must visit!
Egypt people= 5*Wonderful, happy, warm people. Nobody tried to cheat us or seemed like a threat unlike a few reviews stating so.
Safety= 5* Extremely safe!!! Lets just say I live in Australia in a posh expensive suburb and drunk men whistle at me if I walk alone. Egypt was more safe and people were respectful towards women.
Tour class and arrangements= 5* Luxury and absolutely fantastic!
Cleanliness and hygiene= 5* After reading a few review online we expected Egypt to be dirty, chaotic and unorganized. Upon getting there we were surprised to see how clean, organized and safe it is!!
Would I recommend Memphis tour= 5* ABSOLUTELY! Extremely professional and generous!
Detailed review: We decided to go to Europe for our Honeymoon and do a stop-over in Egypt. On my fathers recommendation we extended the one-day Egypt stop over to a week long stop, but were uncertain of the whole thing. After visiting Egypt and Europe we were glad to have spent time in Egypt as Europe faded away in front of Egypt's grandeur!
To plan our trip we decided to get in touch with Memphis tours after reading the countless fantastic review online and custom planned a week long honeymoon trip for us. It was the easiest, most smooth and extremely professional trip I've ever planned. As it was our Honeymoon, Memphis tours wonderful representative Mohamed Mokhtar threw in a few complimentary sightseeing, tours and farewell dinner for us. The whole process was absolutely smooth and efficient.
At the airport we were greeted by the Memphis representative and taken to our Hotel Oberoi Meena House. We were on a hassel-free luxury holiday where we were taken care of every minute and had nothing left to do ourself, except to enjoy and let the beauty of Egyptian architecture, history and people amaze us. Waking up to the Pyramids outside our window was a dream and being taken everywhere according to our convenience when we wanted was fantastic. Memphis tours were extremely flexible with last minute changes to our daily itineraries too. I've traveled all over the world but the beautiful rich culture and history Egypt offers has left me spellbound. The only other place that has such magical effect, grandeur and rich culture is India.
Our stay at Oberoi Meena house, transfers, air tickets, cruise bookings everything was taken care of by Memphis and they made sure we were at the right place doing the right thing at the right time without tying us in any strict schedule. The Al Jamila cruise on the Nile was fantastic even though the water level was low. Our Egyptologist Mohamed was extremely nice, kind and had answers to all our weird questions. We were mesmerized everyday by new historical stories, places and the Egyptian peoples dedication to preserve their brilliant history. On our last day on board the cruise couldn't move to Luxor as the water level was very low, people on the boat with other tours were driven a few hours to Luxor and back to the boat, and the same was repeated the next day. But Memphis tours arranged for our over night stay at the Sheraton Hotel in Luxor and saved us the back and forth inconvenient travel to the cruise. We thought the arrangements were extremely professional and kind. Memphis tour services were perfect, couldn't find a fault anywhere and would like to thank Memphis for arranging such a wonderful Honeymoon trip for us.
Back in Cairo, we had the best guide Amany who was full of knowledge and Egyptian history. Such knowledge and genuine enthusiasm were extremely impressive. Our chauffeur in Egypt Ahmid Mohsin made our every drive during the trip fun filled. We would like to recommend him to everyone and would definitely ask for him for our next trip. He introduced us to lovely Egyptian trance :P and even got us hooked to a particular number we liked listening to on repeat. On our last day at the airport he surprised us with his lil gift to us- the CD of our Favorite Egyptian number! Egyptian people are truly warm and kind. We said our goodbye to Egypt with a heavy heart, onward to Europe which couldn't impress us(except Norway which was stunning and breath taking) after all that we had seen in Egypt, even though we tried hard not to compare. The Land of the Nile has us mesmerized and we shall return :)
Thanks Memphis tours for arranging such a wonderful Egypt tour for us and leaving no stone unturned to make it perfect!
We were set to go, we were just looking for the best flight to get to Egyp, and then the protests started in Tahir Square again. The media reporting violence and many deaths and injuries. We got "cold feet" I emailed Mr Sakr with my concerns. He very quickly responded, advised us of the situation, explained that all the violence is confined to this one spo,t and assured us that we will be safe. He also advised us that we can take our time deciding. He never pushed for us to committ. We waited til the elections were over and decided we were going to go. I emailed Mr Sakr again changed the dates and he very quickly changed the itinerary to accomodate us. While searching for the best way to get there I found a stop over in Jordan , figured why not see Petra while we are there, emailed Mr Sakr to see if it could be arranged , sure enough it could be, we got the itinerary for this extra excursion right away. Then we decided to fly Air France instead. We booked our trip finally. You would think that that was it, well we found out about the Mena House , we wanted to stay there , once again, all it took was an email to Mr Sakr and it was done.
The reason I went into details like that is to show how professional, patient, knowlegable Memphis Tours is, and Mr Sakr deserves a medal. I wasn't the easiest customer, I would have given up on me long time ago. Even my husband finally said to leave the "poor guy alone" We are very excited to visit Egypt and if the tour just as good as the pre travel arrangements, it looks like it is going to be a trip of a life time. Trip that I don't think would have happened if it wasn't for our wonderful tour coordinator, who put our fears to rest and was very patient during this long process. (I don't think the guy ever sleeps, with the time difference between Egypt and Canada most of our communications happened at 3 am Egypt time) And so we are off.
The trip was wonderful from the word go. I was met at the Cairo airport by Mohammad Abdo who was assigned to me as my guest relations person. I was transferred to the hotel and explained in detail about my trip starting the next day. I was given a mobile phone that was charged enough to make 30 mins worth of local calls. This helped me to keep in touch with Mohammed whenever required. The hotels and the boat I was put up in through out the trip were good std...the food was good..the guides were excellent...here I must mention Ahmed during the cruise and another Ahmed in Cairo and Alexandria. Both were extremely knowledgeable and were ready to answer all my queries untiringly. Imad at Luxor was also great company. Through out the trip I was well looked after and felt really safe. Everything was planned to the last detail and I did not have to worry about anything...made my trip relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable!!!! Thank you memphis tours, Maged, Mohamed, Ahmed and Imad!!!!!!
Tripadvisor. We arranged our 10 day/9 night trip via email with our
personal tour consultant, Abdo Younis. This process went very
smoothly, even with our changes and questions, and we were
provided a detailed day by day itinerary.
We were greeted at the airport by our Cairo coordinator, Hamada Amir.
Hamada escorted us to our hotel , got us checked in, gave us a cell
phone for the duration of our trip, and went over the next day’s
itinerary. Hamada or his counterparts, Mustafa in Aswan, and Ahmed in Luxor were always there to greet us and make sure we made it to our next destination.
Memphis had everything covered, we were always met by a trip coordinator, a guide, or both. It was always a Memphis Tours van and driver that took us from place to place when needed. This company really has it’s stuff together.
Also, a word on the guides who actually escort you and explain the history and context of the sites. Our favorite was a young Egyptologist named Mohamed Emam who was our guide for the Aswan to Luxor cruise portion of our trip. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about these temples and tombs, he has a genuine passion for the subject. He was also a lot of fun.
We had a female tour guide in Alexandria and for the Cairo Museum named Rania Yahia who was also very friendly and knowledgeable.
We rode camels and horses beside the Giza pyramids at dawn, toured the
pyramids inside and out, the sphinx, the step pyramid, Ramses II
statue at Memphis, Abu Simbel, Aswan High Dam, Philae temple, the
Unfinished Obelisk, Valley of the Kings, Temple of Queen Hatshepsut,
Karnak & Luxor temples, Hot Air Balloon Ride in Luxor, Tombs of the Nobles, Alexandria, Qaitbay Citadel, Catacombs, Cairo Museum. We stayed at Le Meridien Pyramids Resort, Movenpick Aswan Hotel, Jaz Minerva Cruise.
If you go to Egypt, make sure you see Abu Simbel. It is worth the 3 1/2 hour ride or you could fly.
Despite the concern of pretty much everyone that we told we were going to Egypt, we never felt the slightest bit insecure the entire time we were there.
The trip exceeded our expectations and I would like to thank Hamada, Mustafa, and Ahmed, along with our drivers (Osama, Saeed, etc) for taking such good care of us.
To all those looking for a similar kind or an exhaustive trip in Egypt I would recommend just go ahead and book yourselves with Memphis Tours.
Wait and watch for my further review once I return from the trip.
Magnificent temples and structures. History! History! You’re walking in the same areas as the great queens and kings. King Tut’s Tomb…. The Egyptians do their best to welcome visitors to their land. The accommodations might not be as extravagant as you are used too but they are doing the best they can.
Hassling by the merchants. Horrible at times. Listen to your guide and don’t let it spoil your trip. A kind “no” and keep walking is the best advice. Our guide let us know of the best places to buy where you could stop and look without the pressure.
Again special thanks to Memphis Tours and the boat crew. Thank you Abdo Yunnis for responding to my emails in a timely manner and making me feel like I was your only client. Thank you to the ship’s crew. Food was great and so was the service. Sayed Selim, our new Egyptian brother, You ROCK! Everyone keep up the great work and I hope to visit Egypt again very soon.
We had a wonderful time in both Cairo and our Nile cruise. Our Nile cruise guide, Yassar was such a nice guy and helpful in every way we asked. My wife had asked about having a drink at the Old Catarac Hotel, so Yassar arranged for 3 carriages and 8 of us went to the hotel while we were in Aswan. Yassar arranged several other special things for us on the cruise, he was a delightful guy with a great sense of humor. Mahmoud, our Cairo guide was very good about getting us to see all the sights and took care for us to also do a little extra things.
We have talked to many friends about our experience and Memphis Tours, we suggest they all book a tour with Memphis Tours.
My friends and I were very satisfied with the service. Your company couldnt have been more helpful. Our holiday to Egypt was the best we ever had. Memphis Tours were so accomidating and helpful. We met such great people and learned a lot about the history of Egypt. We would like to thank everyone from Memphis tours and hopefully in the future,we will be able to visit again!
Visited January 2011
Our guides were very knowledgable and passionate about Egyptian history, and answered any questions that we had. Having the same guide in Cairo and then from Aswan to Luxor was nice as you were able to get to know them and there was always someone to help you out. Our guide from Aswan to Luxor, Sayed Selim, was excellent and made sure we were always taken care of and had input into the day's plans.
Overall a great experience, I would definitely reccomend this tour company to anyone looking to go to Egypt. A great deal and makes traveling Egypt simple and you're able to enjoy without working about logistics.
After that we flew from Cairo to Aswan for Nile River Cruise trip for four days and three nights to destination Luxor. There we met another tour guide, Mr. Ahmed Rezk. He is expert in history of all Temples (we visited Abu Simbil Tow Temples, Philae Temple, Kom Ombo Temple, Edfu Temple, Al-Deir Al-Bahari Temple, Luxor Temple, and Karnak Temple), also the Valley of the Kings, the Unfinished Obelisk, high/low dam and Nubian Village in Aswan and Luxor. Through his guide, we witnessed the great construction and art work of the Ancient Egypt. Mr. Ahmed Rezk stayed with me and my wife all of time in Aswan and Luxor. He was willing and happy to assist us at any time. He is also kind, knowledgeable and professional. He also taught us some simple greetings in Egyptian.
After the Nile River Cruise trip, we flew back to Cairo and we were happy to meet Mr. Abd Fatah (representative) and Mr. Ahmed (Cairo tour guide) again. Mr. Ahmed took us to visit Citadel of Salah Al-Din and Step Pyramid in Saqqara before the end of our Egypt trip. Mr. Abd Fatah took us to Cairo Airport in the same day and we left with a wonderful and unforgettable memory in Egypt.
Thank you for Memphis Tours' great effort in arranging our trip. Special thanks to Mr. Abd Fatah (representative), Mr. Ahmed (Cairo tour guide) and Mr. Ahmed Rezk (Aswan/Luxor tour guide). They are all fluent in English. My wife and I highly recommend them to all people who are interested in visit Egypt.
I gladly suggest this company for your future Eygpt tours.
Many grateful thanks to Mohammed A. El Meguid, our personal tour consultant at Memphis Tours, for all his caring help and patience with my e-mails and telephone calls as we went through the planning phase of the trip. He was a pleasure to work with and all our arrangements were very successful.
The Memphis Tours employees who took care of us in Egypt were Mohsen Tawfik (Tour leader), Hanan El Zoghby (Tour Guide in Cairo - 2 days), and Ahmed El Prince (Tour Guide in Aswan and Luxor - 5 days) . They were knowledgeable, helpful, hardworking, friendly, and best of all they had a great sense of humour! They looked after us very well and we really enjoyed their company.
All the temples and tombs that we visited were amazing, and throughout this whole experience we were always close to the river Nile. It was great to relax on our cruise ship (M/S Iberotel Crown Empress, which we very much enjoyed), and just watch the people and animals on the banks of the river.
It is almost impossible to single out one or two special memories, but I’ll try…climbing up into the inside of the Great Pyramid at Giza, the ride through the desert to Abu Simbel, the felucca sail on the Nile, the visit to the Nubian restaurant and village on the bank of the Nile, and the friendly Egyptians and beautiful Egyptian children whom we met.
We were met in Luxor late our first night and transferred to our hotel, where we were picked up the next morning and taken to our ship for a Nile cruise. Happily, we were informed that we had been upgraded to a better ship within the Sonesta line. Earlier in the planning stages, because I have severe allergies to cigarette smoke, Memphis had upgraded us, at no charge to us, to two suites on the ship which had balconies so we could air the rooms out if necessary. The rooms we had on the new ship were the best on the ship, with lovely balconies. There was no smoke in the rooms that I smelled or reacted to. Thanks to Memphis Tours for making that happen because it made all the difference for me and was a major concern when we went on our trip.
One little nit-pick with Sonesta Cruises - we thought water was to be provided whenever we were transported in the van or bus but the first (and only) time we asked, we were told that it would cost us a little extra per bottle. We paid and got nice cold water. No big deal – we just brought our own from then on.
After the cruise we were met in Aswan by a group from Memphis Tours, led by Ahmed Hassan. They drove us down to Abu Simbel and back, continuing through Aswan to our hotel in Luxor. During our trips between Aswan and Abu Simbel and at the temple, we were accompanied by an excellent guide who is a Professor in Egypt and quite an informative Egyptologist, Dr. Gamal Kasem. He was fantastically knowledgeable and in hindsight I wish we had taken advantage of his expertise and knowledge more, but we were so tired from the early wake-up of 3:00 AM, which is necessitated when driving or flying to Abu Simbel. His English was wonderful, he answered every question we threw at him, his personality was great and he was a joy all around.
The drive was three hours to Abu Simbel, three hours back to Aswan and four hours to Luxor, but in addition to a guide and Egyptologist, they provided two drivers who traded off regularly (one slept while the other drove). The van we were driven in was quite comfortable and the four of us slept much of the way and took photos from the van the rest of the time. The four gentlemen from MemphisTours who accompanied us all spoke English well and were quite pleasant and friendly.
In Luxor, after being taken to and checked into our hotel, we were met the next two mornings by Ahmed Hassan and a new driver and Egyptologist also named Ahmed (I think), who showed us to the wonderful temples as listed on our itinerary. He was quite good and knowledgeable although not quite as good with English as the other guide at Abu Simbel had been, but it didn’t really matter because he was full of interesting information and was a great guide.
My only complaint – and it’s a minor one – is that we were to be provided lunch during our day-long tours at Abu Simbel and Luxor, and except for the first day when we were taken for a pretty sad meal (that we were told at the end we each had to pay $10 US for), we were provided no lunch. However, we brought our own snacks every day so it was no big deal. Truly, it was no big deal – the sights, the temples, the guides - everything was so perfect that taking time to eat at a restaurant was just not on our radar anyway.
We were accompanied from our hotel to the Luxor airport and met on the other end in Cairo late in the evening by Hassan #2, who took us to our hotel, saw us checked-in, and met us the next morning to introduce us to our new guide, Nesrein, who was perfect. Nesrein and our driver, Sayid, spent the next three days with us and showed us everything on our itinerary and more, spending the entire day with us, into the evening, above and beyond what had been planned, much to our delight. In addition, we were taken to enjoy good and different lunches each day. Most of all, though, was how knowledgeable and friendly and utterly delightful they both were. We felt like they were friends of ours and not there as part of a job. What a perfect way to end a wonderful trip that we had all been a bit apprehensive about when we started planning it in December.
I can’t say enough about what a wonderful trip the four of us had. We have each all traveled quite extensively on our own throughout the US, Europe and Asia, but from this wonderful and magical experience, I think all four of us would say this was one of the best trips we have each ever taken. I would never hesitate to recommend MemphisTours or to use them again. They were wonderful!
(My apologies if I got any details or names wrong. I know I have misspelled some of the names).
This is just a note of appreciation for the excellent tour that you arranged for Prof. Eadie and me. We were most ably served by your Memphis Tours team, from the time we were met at the airport by Nabil until the end of the tour in Cairo. I remember particularly the knowledgeable commentaries of Rehab and the incredible driving skills of Osama in Cairo, and the similar services by Isis and your driver (I’m sorry that I have forgotten most of the names of your staff; we were so busy sightseeing that my note-taking suffered!) in Luxor and Aswan. We were particularly pleased by the care that your staff took in ensuring that we made all of our connections; we would surely have been in difficulty if we had been left to our own devices. The accommodations and meals were of a very high standard.
We had an exceptionally enjoyable, memorable, and informative visit to Egypt, thanks to you and your team.
Dr. W.R. Tyson
From responing to our initial inquiry through the 'chat' box on their website, to getting back to us countless times, always very quickly, via email, Ayman has been very informative and helpful as we planned the specific trip that my family wanted to have.
We are greatly looking forward to New Years in Egypt and experiencing the trip that Ayman put together with us. Expecting a great time! :)
