Travel to Egypt was a amazing experience, the people was incredible. Cairo is a magic city full of beautiful places.. and Memphis tours and Mohamed Besheer helped us to know this wonderful town. A trip to remember and never forget.
If you like to go on tours during your holiday, this is the tour operator for you. I don’t normally go on tours, but seeing as I was visiting Egypt during the civil unrest and a week before Morsi’s trial, my travel buddies and I decided it was best not to wander about Cairo without a local guide or two. We took the Cairo Short Break tour, with a day option to Alexandria. In retrospect, with the limited amount of time we had, we could have done without the day option to Alexandria (3 hour drive there and back for a total of 6 hours in a car felt like a day wasted). However, if you like seafood, then the food at the restaurant by the water that we ate at was a bit worthy of the day trip (restaurant was called Sabrin, if I recall). Also in retrospect, we wished we had known to request more time to shop around in the bazaar we visited. I could have easily spent half a day at Khan El Khalili. Also, before you leave, ask your tour rep if they plan to take you to any local shops so you can be prepared to bring enough cash or your credit card with you. There was a wonderful carpet workshop we didn’t know we would be taken to and were a bit unprepared for financially. Haggling is most welcomed though! Speaking of the tour representatives, mine was very communicative throughout the planning and booking process. Mostafa was so helpful and made me feel like everything was arranged and organized to my liking. Also Tameer and Ahmed were so expedient in arranging our flights for us. We really appreciated that. Be prepared, however, to spend a lot of time inside your mode of transport if you’re driving across Cairo in traffic. Our hotel was in Giza and the upside of this was that on our first day visiting the Pyramids we spent no more than about 5 mins in the tour van. More good news is that MemphisTours has top-notch transportation vehicles. Also be prepared to have small change on you at all times (1 to 5 Egyptian pounds in coins). Tipping is wide-spread. All in all, our trip was completely incident-free. MemphisTours made us feel safe. I should also mention that it is pretty obvious that Egypt’s tourism industry is hurting right now as we were the only foreigners in many places we visited. In a way this was nice as there were no lines or crowds to compete with anywhere. But the downside is that a lot of vendors at the main sites are struggling. Please visit Egypt and use Memphis Tours!

We are eagerly anticipating our next trip to Cairo, and will definitely use Memphis Tours again. Many thanks to you all, for making our Cairo experience such a memorable one.
My tour guide, Medhat and Osama (driver), were both great. They cared for me so much, you would think I had known them for years. Travelling alone to Egypt for the first time, I was nervous at first. As soon as I met Medhat and Osama, I felt more relaxed day by day. We had delicious meals at restaurants everyday and visited the most interesting places of Cairo and Alexandria.
Medhat explained the ancient history to me in good English and I never had any problems in understanding him. He took me to sites, that were so unbelievable. Medhat and Osama made me laugh everyday I was there and that is something that I will never forget.
I've taken lots of photos on this trip, so if you come to Egypt don't forget to pack your camera.
I highly recommend Memphis Tours if you ever want to visit Egypt. With their personality and hospitality, what more could you ask for. I'm planning on another trip and I will definitely book with Memphis Tours again.
We went to Saqqara, Dashur and the great pyramids at Giza one day and saw old Cairo, a mosque, some churches, a synagogue, the Egyptian Museum, and a great bazaar the other day. We had wonderful lunches at local restaurants.
I shot in the dark with Memphis Tours for my trip to Egypt- found them randomly searching internet and didn't know about this site! I was happy when they were very reponsive to my initial questions via email, helped me select an itinerary and confirmed all of my travel details. They were waiting for me at the airport when I arrived. Then, i had a great time on my tour. Rehab and Mohamed Kntaky were so thoughtful and hospitable. Mohamed would stop to get water without asking because it was so hot. He was anticipating my needs and really proactive. After we would tour, he would be waiting for us in the car wherever we happened to end up.
Rehab and Mohamed perfectly executed my tour. Rehab was so friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable about history and the sites that we visited. It was so hot! She even toughed out the camel ride with me. I told her what I wanted to buy and she took me to the right places. She took great pictures of me at the various sites.
Especially being a female traveling alone, i really relied on Memphis tours to make sure that my travel plans and tour were executed perfectly. My time ended with a ride to the airport. I was never on my own without them when I was away from the hotel. It made me feel very safe! I loved my trip to Egypt! Thank you, Rehab and Mohamed Kntaky at Memphis Tours!!
I traveled to Egypt Nov. 28 - Dec .4. Upon arrival i was greeted by the Memphis tours manager. I was escorted to my hotel in Giza by an A/c minivan which was comfy. The following day I met my tour guide Medhat Mahmoud Abd El azeem. Right away I knew i was in good hands. During my trip I visited the Pyramids, city of Alexandria, various museums, and a Nile dinner cruise. I was impressed with Medhats knowledge of the history of Egypt. He answered every single question I had. I have more appreciation for the historical monuments of Egypt thanks to Medhat. The streets of Egypt at first were a little scary but our driver Mohamed, Elghaskry was a force to wrecken with. Mohamed made me loose my fear and I thank him. I was sad to leave Egypt because my tour guide Medhat made my trip the most memorable one and also I knew I had made a new friend. Thanks you my friend and thank you Memphis tours.
I fully agree with him we travel together :)
She went above and beyond what was expected and gave us a spectacular tour. She made every effort to make us feel welcome and comfortable in her country. She is very knowledgable and explained everything with a contagious enthusiasm. She kept us fully informed and entertained for our two days.
We loved our tour & Cairo!! The protests had absolutely no impact on our visit & tours. We even went to the Cairo Egyptian Museum on our own & encountered no issues (even though the protests were not far from the Museum). Cairo is a great city with many amazing people. Thank you Memphis Tours Team! You have been very wonderful to my husband & I during our short visit to Cairo. We now have new friends in Cairo. Judith & Peter M.
The food was fantastic and the driver very safe and reliable.
I highly recommend staying at the 5 star Mena House Oberoi in Giza. This historical hotel was worth the little extra money. The rooms were great, and the food was exceptional!
Their approach and service was top notch and we felt safe at all times. Due to the unrest in Egypt, my girlfriend was apprehensive about going but, once we got there, the Memphis staff made us both feel that we were in competent, experienced hands.
We would both give our highest recommendation to Memphis Tours. The trip was simply awesome; it couldn't be better.
If you're considering going to Egypt - just go! Trust Memphis Tours, they will take excellent care of you.
thanks to all 3 of you, Holly and I are very grateful to all of you!!!
During the drive from Cairo Airport to Giza Meridian Hotel, Amro went over the itinerary with us and offered suggestions for other short tours that we could do during our planned stay. While I welcomed the suggestions and took him up on a couple of the additional tours (Giza Pyramid Light and Sound Show and Saqqara tour), I felt the tour coordinator was a bit pushy in trying to get me to sign up for more tours and wanted me to make a decision right away ( minus 1 star for that ).
Other than the pushy coordinator, our actual tour guide Tarek, was the best tour guide one could ask for. Having Tarek and our driver around with us as we toured the Giza Pyramids, the Great Sphinx, and the extra tour of the Saqqara stepped pyramids in the northwest of the city of Memphis helped give us a sense of safety. When we visited the Giza plateau is where we got some of the most amazing pictures, but was also where some of the annoying vendors and locals may hassle you the most.
NOTE: We had some camel people come up to us near the Giza Pyramids and hand us their camel reigns and put their hats on us to help us take pictures EVEN though we told them NO and asked them to go away. The camel man grabbed my arm and wouldn't let go even though I was telling him to leave me alone. They even told us 'no charge' and then after demanded payment and when I gave them 20LE to go away he demanded 20LE more. This whole experience could easily have gotten out of hand if not for our driver and tour guide. Just as precaution if you do want pictures with the camel people, be careful, and be prepared to cough up some 10 - 40 LE to avoid a confrontation...in our case, we didn't even want pictures with them.
The rest of tour which included visiting the Citadel of Salah El Din and Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque, visiting the Cairo Museum in Tahrir Square, and the extra day tour to Alexandria were amazing. Our tour guide Tarek even didn't mind that we wanted to do an extra stop in Alexandria to visit Pompey's Pillar which also had an underground tomb/catacomb to explore.
I honestly can't stress enough how awesome our tour guide Tarek was. He was very knowledgable on ancient Egyptian history, current political issues, and he was an overall pleasure to converse with. He was quite funny too, which lead to us having a great time laughing during car trips in between tour destinations. He also was accommodating in the fact that my friend and I were practically like paparazzi with our cameras taking pictures of anything and everything and gave us extra time for picture taking throughout the whole trip.
We just returned from a brief visit to Cairo, where we used Memphis Tours. We were very impressed with our interaction with Memphis Tours, including working with Mohamed Mokhtar in planning our trip to having Shaima as our tour guide. We only had two days so we tried to squeeze in as many highlights as possible. We were traveling with our two sons and they loved every minute of the tour. On our first day, we were picked up from the airport promptly at 12 noon and taken to the Giza Pyramids. Shaima provided information to us as we drove along about what we were seeing. Shaima is a master's student studying Egyptology, so she was a wealth of information and her enthusiasm was contagious. Not only did we get to see the pyramids, but we rode the camels and saw the solar boat museum. That evening we went on a Nile River dinner cruise, which was relaxing and entertaining as we watched the different dancers. The next day we left in the morning on a Coptic Cairo tour and to see the Egyptian Museum and shopping at the Souk. We never had to wonder what to do next, as Memphis Tours took care of every detail. I would recommend Memphis Tours without hesitation.

Memphis Tours have been amazing in getting the entire trip organized for 5 of us the weekend before the travel date. Within half an hr, Mohamed Sakr arranged the entire itinerary according to my preferences.
Looking forward to the trip.

Traveling as a single woman in the middle east is always difficult, especially when one is running against time. However, when I was met at the airport by the Tour Manager, Abdul, His helpful and friendly attitude made me realise that I am in very good hands and that I have no need to feel any concern.
After guiding me smoothly through airport control I was introduced to Mohammed, our driver, who proved to be an incredibly competent and safe driver.
Add to this mix an efficient, friendly and very caring tour guide in the form of Neama, and the whole experience in Cairo became an amazingly unforgettable experience.
I am coming back to Cairo and would insist on dealing with these three individuals again. They made my few hours in Cairo an experience that I will treasure.
Thank you Abdul, Neama and Mohammed.

We were in Egypt for 4 days and used Memphis Tours throughout the trip, from pick up to sightseeing until drop off at the Cairo International Airport. We recommend Emad Seleem (Tour Guide(He knows his job, very cooperative and helpful, he knows the history very well)He is an excellent guide) and Adel (An Excellent driver, he can drive you calmly through the heavy traffic.) Memphis tours are very well organised and set reasonable price. I Strongly recommend to use their service!

I am a young man of 25 who traveled with a group of friends my age, 5 of us in total, all Americans. Two women and 3 men looking for a nice short get away from our lives at work in the Middle East. We took a short trip of 3 nights and 4 days, and our only regret is not staying longer. As an American I'll lead with this as I know your safety is of paramount importance to you: although you may be hesitant to travel to Egypt due to the ridiculous claims of instability in the region, please put that aside, and let me assure you there is no danger to travelers... The most dangerous thing you could do to yourself is lose your passport in the desert while horseback riding near pyramids! (So listen up when they tell you to empty your pockets before you saddle up, PS I found it!! Lucky guy.)
There were no threats to us, no awkward moments, and no one even looked at us funny. At no point did we feel like we might be in danger. I'm talking at the touristy attractions and the streets of downtown Cairo - day and night. You may have an undercover security officer discreetly attend to your family or group at your request, but he won't be needed. You can also get your hands on ANY local items you may desire. Just ask.
So let's get started on the who and where!
Memphis Tours will be waiting for you and your group with a smile as you arrive in the terminal. The shuttle will take you to the hotel, but will also make any detours for you at your request. Whatever you need can be appropriated. It was a hassle free process. Any thing on your itinerary or included in your package (mind you, you can deviate to something different if you feel it in the moment) will have transportation provided by this same shuttle. The drivers are the best in the business; driving in the Middle East can be described as chaos at best. However, these guys make it look easy and do it safely. At night if you venture out, taxis will be your preferred method of transportation, and they are extremely cheap!
We stayed at the Meridian. It was amazing. The service was excellent, the staff was very friendly, and rooms were very clean and kept. The location was also amazing, and you can see the Giza Pyramids from our window! Also they have terraces that lead up to roof where you can soak up the view. Mind you its the roof of a hotel, not a villa patio. It serves its purpose should you decide to head up there on your own. There is a bar, a restaurant, a shisha (hookah) lounge, 2 exquisite pools, a business center (there is a charge for wi-fi at different rates for time needed), some ball rooms, and a spa! The bar is a little pricy for hard liquor, I'd advise beer or wine until you get out to the sites. Stella is the local Lager Beer; again, it's local, not the Stella Artois you're thinking of. However, it is refreshing, delicious, and cheap! Breakfast was provided in our package at the hotel buffet - which was awesome! Also, lunch will be provided at different locations(but we'll talk about that later.) Might I also recommend the Margarita Pizza from room service! Oh man, that thing is to die for! The hotel is locally rated as 5 star, but in Western terms I'd say its a low 4. Although, it was still very, very nice!
Attractions and other places:
We packed so many local destinations into only 4 days. You may start by visiting Memphis, Egypt and the monuments to King Ramses and see the remains of what used to be one of his temples. You'll then go to some of the oldest pyramids and tombs in the world, along with several local shops that deal in authentic souvenirs with free demonstrations of how they continue their culture by producing items in the same way as their ancient predecessors. These stops include the hand-made carpet and rug shops, Papyrus paper making shops, perfume shops, and more! All of them offer free refreshments (go with the tea! When in Egypt, do as the Egyptians do) and free tutorials on the history behind the products and the process of how its made. There was never any pressure to buy anything, and the welcoming hospitality was out of this world! You will go to the Giza Pyramids (the most famous ones) where you will enjoy the experience of being in awe of such man made structures. The beauty in every historical place we went was just absolutely majestic! You can ride camels through the desert and all around the pyramids, and you can even go inside of them. We went in the smaller one (and I say smaller in perspective to the others) simply because we could, and it was AWESOME! Some of these extras will cost you extra, but we are talking $15-$40(max)USD...which is a very low cost for the most authentic experience and the memories you will make. We went to the Cairo Museum, various tombs and ancient sites, a Nile Dinner Cruise, a Nile Sailboat adventure, camel riding, The Coptic Church, the Mohammed Ali Mosque, and my favorite part... horseback riding! There were many places we stopped along the way as well. For lunch you will be taken to the most authentic eateries complete with local music and an ambiance that can't be beaten. We even danced with the locals on some occasions(fun!) Some of which are touristy, and some of which are where the locals go. All of the dishes were absolutely delicious There was no rush anywhere we went, we took our time, made our memories, and continued onward. You have many options as well... you are free to do as you wish...simply tell your guide what you would rather do instead of what is on your itinerary. For instance, we decided to skip the pyramid light show at dusk and instead go for a sunset/night horseback ride! It was AMAZING! Walk, trot, gallop, run- whichever is your preferred pace, you will enjoy the cool wind blowing on you as you travel through the desert for about 60-90 minutes, looking back at skyline of the lighted Giza Pyramids and the stars and moon shining down on you! It was a calming, yet exciting adventure that brought such a sense of piece and enjoyment. I highly recommend it. We went to bedouin (desert people) camps, slightly modernized of course, that were complete with exquisite food, a club dance floor with local Egyptian club music, shisha, and even a man offering you pictures with his medium sized lion cub! (Oh, and you know I did it, for $15 to hold a lion! Heck yes!) Although, they did not sell alcohol... we kept a nice ration in the shuttle van.
These places were all great and there are so many options you can choose from depending on your idea of an ideal getaway. For me it was the touristy attractions by day with our guide, and hip night life including pubs, wine, shisha, clubs, and staying up late by night. The Nile cruise and Sailing trip are both extremely calming and just flat out relaxing! Overall I'd say the amenities and packages available will be suffice and out do the expectations of travelers of all ages.
What to bring:
1)Bring your camera along...everywhere. If you end up at a destination where you might not need it for a short period of time you can leave it with the shuttle driver. IT WILL BE SAFE. It isn't going to serve its purpose very well cautiously locked up in your hotel room. Pretty much everywhere you go is secure and there is no riff-raff hanging around; these businesses are dying to have their tourist revenue stream (pre-revolution) back, and allowing tourists' to be in danger or have their items taken is not their plan to get the tourists back to Cairo. Once again, you and your belonging will be safe!
2) Dress for the occasion. You will have either a rough outline or a step by step plan of your daily activities, so be prepared. Pants and walking shoes or comfy boots for your daily adventures should do fine. I went in March, so it was about 80-85 degrees... Women: although it is a predominantly Muslim country you may wear whatever you want. Dress the same and as casually as you would at home without any worries.
3) Extra spending cash. As I stated earlier some things will cost you a little extra, such as going inside the pyramids, buying souvenirs, or paying for the difference in your sudden change of plans. Although, the costs were minimal and in Western standards not even a big deal... $10 USD to go in a pyramid, $20 to ride camels at the Giza site for an hour, $40 for horseback riding, etc.
4) A mind set of relaxation, and going with the flow. Leave your worries and troubles at home, and come with an open mind. Egypt is a third world country, but see past the imperfections and you will see a land of full of beauty that is so rich in culture, family, history, and peace that it will blow your mind! You will be safe, and you will be well taken care of.
Listen to your guides when they offer you advise. They will tell you who to avoid so that you are not pestered by local merchants while you are at the main tourist attractions. They'll even teach you how to say a stern "No" and "I don't have money." That was fun. The locals I met, and spoke to, and danced with, and smoked with, and drank with were all truly awesome. A smile and laughter transcends the boundaries your vocal chords may not. Most everyone was grateful to see us (Western tourists) there, and were very hospitable - even without us spending much or tipping. We did tip though, and it is advisable; especially if your get drivers, guides, and other at your service who go the extra mile. Not once can I recall a rude encounter.
To Maha and Houssain! I am not sure if you will see this, but if you do: THANK YOU SO MUCH! And to my readers: request these two. They are young, highly intelligent, ambitious, personable, hilarious, and awesome guides! They truly showed me one of the best trips of my life. I have been all over the Middle East and to Europe, but these two take the cake! They will show you as much or as little as you want, and will respond to your requests in most professional and speedy fashion!
Go with Memphis Tours, and have the Egyptian experience of a lifetime!
Two thumbs way way up, 5 stars, 5 diamonds - however you want to describe it.
It couldn't have been any better!
Thanks for the wonderful time. I will definately use memphis again if i am back in egypt.
About one month before I traveled to Egypt I had set up two tours with Memphis Tours. Fatima Sayed was the representative who I had the pleasure of emailing back and forth to help me plan it all out. She booked and set up everything perfectly and I was happy how everything went out. She was very prompt in her responses and was accommodating with my special request....riding a camel, which she included for free in the tour.
I did the pyramids and El Alamein/Alexandria tours...which was completely amazing and I would highly recommend doing both these tours.
I also had a awesome tour guide as well for both these tours. Shaimaa. She is extremely knowledgeable with everything on the tour. She answered every question I had and was fun to visit the sites with her. She also kept the panhandlers away when around the pyramids. The drivers were also great as I feel for them when driving in Cairo and especiallyAlexandria. Not a place to be driving as a foreigner. Thanks Memphis Tours!

Fantastic pre visit service. We were aided by Mohamed Sakr who was our telephone agent. Most of our communication was via email but I was very happy when he took the opportunity to call me and discuss our tour. Quite a surprise considering we are in South Africa. Our tour has been arranged hassl free with a fantastic programme put together as a private tour. We look forward to every minute. Mohamed was patient and answered every email within 24 hours with continued updates and proposals. Thanks Mohamed. Shukraan.

Though I have visited Egypt last year, my contact with the Magnificent Travel has helped me more in knowing the diverse culture of Egypt. I had discovered more of it's wonder and our visit in Egypt has helped me gain so much insight becsuse of the extraordinary tour provided by the Magnificent Travel. Thanks to Mohamed Sakr.
About the services I had I couldn´t be more satisfied. Everyone I had contact were extremely friendly, helpful, hands on and made my trip really enjoyable and also made everything as scheduled and ontime which is very very important to me.
All the best for the gentlemen who serviced me: My guide Ahmed Farahat, the driver Mohamed Salama and the leader Mr. Husien.
I only suggest them that offer more hotel options to the guests. Besides I felt the Grand Pyramids room really good, the service was terrible! The front desk agent (a woman that I don´t remember her name) was stupid, slow and unpolite and couldn´t even take a copy of the right page of my passport, she made a copy of my US Visa and when I was already inside my room another front desk member called me to go back there immediately to them to make the copy of the right page. As well the restaurant waiter I had contact with.
Thanks Memphis Tours staff, you´ll be my only option when in Egypt again!
We were set to go, we were just looking for the best flight to get to Egyp, and then the protests started in Tahir Square again. The media reporting violence and many deaths and injuries. We got "cold feet" I emailed Mr Sakr with my concerns. He very quickly responded, advised us of the situation, explained that all the violence is confined to this one spo,t and assured us that we will be safe. He also advised us that we can take our time deciding. He never pushed for us to committ. We waited til the elections were over and decided we were going to go. I emailed Mr Sakr again changed the dates and he very quickly changed the itinerary to accomodate us. While searching for the best way to get there I found a stop over in Jordan , figured why not see Petra while we are there, emailed Mr Sakr to see if it could be arranged , sure enough it could be, we got the itinerary for this extra excursion right away. Then we decided to fly Air France instead. We booked our trip finally. You would think that that was it, well we found out about the Mena House , we wanted to stay there , once again, all it took was an email to Mr Sakr and it was done.
The reason I went into details like that is to show how professional, patient, knowlegable Memphis Tours is, and Mr Sakr deserves a medal. I wasn't the easiest customer, I would have given up on me long time ago. Even my husband finally said to leave the "poor guy alone" We are very excited to visit Egypt and if the tour just as good as the pre travel arrangements, it looks like it is going to be a trip of a life time. Trip that I don't think would have happened if it wasn't for our wonderful tour coordinator, who put our fears to rest and was very patient during this long process. (I don't think the guy ever sleeps, with the time difference between Egypt and Canada most of our communications happened at 3 am Egypt time) And so we are off.
To our surprize neither the situation in Cairo was unsafe nor unpleasent in any way. I must add, Memphis Tours has very professional staff who planned our trip and we truly made the most of our short vacation at Cairo. I would like to extend a special thanks to our Tour manager named Adbul Mohammed from Memphis Tour who was extremely courteous, understanding and professional. I would recommend everyone to see the biggest city in Africa without fear and be as awestruck by its beauty, history and architecture as we were and certainly have a trouble free experience with Memphis Tours.
Thank you Abdul, Momin(our guide) and Ahmed (our driver) for a memorable tour to your beautiful country.
Firstly, I hired their services for airport transfers as well given the volatile situation in the country (from what I see in the news). I was so surprised that an english speaking representative (apart from the driver) picked me from the airport, which to me was very much appreciated given that I am a woman as they made you feel secure and valuable. Actually, I was so surprised that the situation was much much better (and calmer) compared to what we see in the media. Except for being in the Tahrir Square, pretty much everywhere around Cairo was normal.
After our work was done, my colleagues and I decided to go on a tour c/o Memphis and we were so glad we hired their services. Not only was our tour easier since we were picked up/brought back to our hotel but having our tour guide (Mostafa) made us understand a lot more about the country's history. It's so great to be able to see sights part of ancient history. Our tour guide was also very patient in answering our questions and offered to take all of our pictures (which I can tell you might be frustrating for others as all three of us looooovvvveee to take pictures). So imagine three people with three cameras taking pictures of the same thing plus our individual pictures. We did take a lot his time. Our driver Eman was also a trooper.
I can say that overall, our trip to Egypt was very good as we were able to see beautiful sights and meet wonderful people. A trip to Egypt must be on everyone else's bucket list. I'm so lucky that this part is checked on mine.
We had two tour guides that were courteous, punctual and knowledgeable and made our visit to Egypt memorable. Their names were Shaimaa Baheeg in Luxor /Valley of the Kings and Ahmad El Sayed in Cairo for the pyramids/city tour/ saquarra.
I was extremely impressed with the online service and assistance provided by Mr Mahed Al Gohary [ -- ] , the tour consultant in Memphis Tours. He replied and answered all my queries about the tour package promptly. He's very helpful in providing answers to all queries that I had. He even called me from Cairo to confirm the dates that i was planning to travel! My friend and I are so looking forward to our Egypt trip next February!
Kudos to Memphis Tours Egypt!

I booked a 3 day 2 night tour with Memphis during a stopover in Cairo. Ahmed Fayez the Sales Director did an excellent job in answering all my queries promptly and providing me the tour information and itinerary within a few hours of every email I sent.
The local tour representative Mohamed Besheer was equally friendly when receiving and sending me off from the airport, and the guide Nesrim was very knowledgeable and patient with me, and she did an excellent tour of the Cairo Museum. Would not hesitate to use them again when I return to tour the rest of Egypt!

We felt very safe the entire time we were there and ran into no issues.
We have traveled to mult places throughout the world and I have to say Egypt was one of my favorites. We got to see the pyramids, the sphinx, the museum, rode camels into the night for a bedouin dinner, a nile cruise, smoked sheesha, saw amazing architecture, ancient artifacts and so much more. The culture was so rich and the locals were very friendly which I felt made it that much more desirable.
I can't pick just one thing to label as my favorite, but I can say there was nothing negative about our trip. Words can't describe. You have to see if for yourself! I can't wait to return!
I contacted Memphis Tours a week prior to my departure and managed to get a response from Mohamed Sakr. First and foremost, Sakr was very professional. He was very prompt and looked into my every request with pleasure. I was very anxious prior to my trip as i was traveling with just my mom. Sakr's response and detailed tour itinerary calmed me down and soon, i was excited for what was to come. Sakr, many thanx. The tour was indeed tailor made to suit my needs and i will definitely recommend you anytime as a correspondent. Fantastic service!
Houssein met me at the airport and was very patient and a very friendly face in a foreign land. Adel our driver was a sweetheart. I called him our F1 Champion driver :) Both got me at the airport, braved the horrible evening traffic and got me safe to my hotel. (i arrived in Egypt first and my mom came the next morning). They picked me up again from my hotel in the morning and we proceeded to pick my mom up from the airport.
After arriving at our hotel, we freshened up for an hour or so and proceeded on what i call my Indiana Jones adventure of a lifetime. Maha was our guide and she was absolutely lovely. Maha is amazing at what she does and is an awesome asset to the company. So accomodating and she really cares for the client.
Although we only had 4 days in Cairo, we managed to go to the Pyramids and see the Sphyinx both during the day and at night for the sound and light show (recommended!), the Egyptian Museum (which left me in awe), a day trip to Alexandria (i loved it! a sea town and it was lovely), a lovely river cruise along the nile and a felucca ride, went to the bazaar where i went crazy over the lovely trinklets and had a very Egyptian experience soaking in the atmosphere, Coptic Cairo where we visited the amazing Mohd Ali Mosque and the Greek Orthodox churches...
Maha even included a trip to eat ice cream at Azza (in Alexandria) and to a sugarcane shop which was so hygenic and so yummy! Lunch was also included and was very good and dinner on the cruise was very memorable.
Also, a special mention has to be made to Maha and Adel for ensuring our safety. When we were there, there was a protest taking place very close to our hotel. They decided to bring us away from the protest area to Alexandria and only brought us back when everything was deemed safe. They ensured our safety and made us feel so secure and calm. There is nothing to be worried about traveling to Egypt at this time. In fact, i think that tourists will be treated fantastically now since people are afraid to travel to Egypt (very unfounded. Egypt is safe!)
All in all, i think Memphis tours made my 4 days so memorable that my mom has proclaimed that this has to be one of the best trips she has had in her life (and being an airline staff, she has traveled A LOT!). Thank you Memphis for such an awesome experience, right from the booking to dropping me off at the airport to catch my flight to my next destination. Everything was perfect and it definitely money well spent.
I would definitely recommend anyone going to Egypt to look up Memphis tours.
Memphis Tours were engaged by our Partner Company in Cairo to meet me at Cairo Airport and provide a chauffeur service morning and night for 4 days. Memphis were punctual and professional throughout. They also took me to visit the Pyramids and Sphinx and arranged an English speaking guide who was both knowledgable and engaging. Cairo traffic is a nightmare so being in safe hands is invaluable.

I was met promptly at the airport and we stopped at several locations allowing me to shop for a camera.
During my next day and a half, Achmed (my primary guide), adjusted the schedule to meet my limitations and still insured I was able to experience what I was looking for.
For the entire trip I had a dedicated guide and an expert driver; there was no waiting, the driver (“Wall E.”), was always available to move from one location to the next just as we finished.
I have driven all over Europe and Asia; nowhere matches the challenges of driving in Cairo. “ Wall E.” never once showed exasperation, and he skillfully avoided cars, trucks donkeys, horses, pedestrians and camels. I do not recommend renting a car in Cairo. I also do not recommend walking the streets by yourself, especially at night.
Mohammad managed the details of my tour; he carefully reviewed these with me on my arrival, and checked with me each day to insure my complete satisfaction.
If you’re going to Cairo, you’re probably interested in the Pyramids, Sphinx, and the Cairo Museum; my recommendations:
Take advantage of your guide’s historical and religious knowledge. Achmed, my guide, added so much to the sights and sounds of the experience. His face would glow as he talked of history and filled in the background. He took me back in time and made me feel as if I was there.
Take a camel ride around the pyramids.
Soak in the religious history; visit the churches and mosques. Regardless of your viewpoint, so much has happened in this country that makes the world what it is today.
Take a drive through the local markets; try to go early in the morning as the donkey and horse carts are delivering goods.
Above all else, trust your guides; this firm knows what they’re doing.
We began by presenting quite a challenge at the booking stage – having asked, very last-minute, to be added, as a birthday surprise, to a tour already booked by two friends. This was handled by Bassem Saad, the tour organizer, with remarkable efficiency and discretion, avoiding [with considerable difficulty we understand] not only any changes to the original itinerary, but also any leakage to the birthday boy. We were met at Cairo airport by the inimitable Osama, transferred to our 4-star hotel and settled in. The following morning the surprise was perfectly stage-managed and executed, after which Omar – the very soul of charm, erudition and discretion – guided us through the pyramids, sphinx and surrounding souks, ever solicitous of our best interests. Our transfer by air to Luxor went without a hitch and the Memphis representative was waiting to take us to the cruise ship. This turned out to be magnificently well run by an extraordinarily friendly and fun crew. Our guide in upper Egypt was the incomparable, ebullient, and very knowledgeable Dr Salem. We finished off with a couple of nights in Cairo one of which was spent with some of the Memphis staff, Bassem the Efficient, Osama [tour leader] the Tireless [He Who Never Sleeps] - and Osama [driver] the Hilarious, on a memorable ‘Cairo by Night’ tour.
The whole tour far exceeded our expectations and Memphis Tours proved themselves faultless throughout. We will certainly plan a return trip with Memphis to catch what we missed first time round.
Due to the heat and our fatigue, we asked that the tour of the mosque, citadel and old Cairo be canceled, and we spent that time back at the hotel relaxing. We really enjoyed the Sound and Light Show, the visit to the pyramids and the Cairo Museum.
The Meridien Pyramids Hotel was wonderful. The room suited our needs exactly. The facilities (pool and restaurants) were terrific and the staff very friendly and accommodating.
Please convey our gratitude to M. Mansour, the driver and our tour guide and tell them that Andrea and Laura said to say, "Hello".
Well family is back from Egypt and they have only one word to describe services offered by Memphis tours "Excellent".
Memphis tours thanks a ton for making it a memorable holiday.
All the places we visited were wheelchair friendly, even close to the pyramids.
I cannot thank George, (tour guide), Ayman, (egyptologist) and our two drivers, Sahid and Zachariah, enouph for their patience and understanding in coping with us, they were wonderful.
So a big "thank you" to these 4 guys who made our break so memorable.
the boat was ok. a littel bit disappointed about the swimmingpool that was practical useless due to small size. but the lugars was great with at nice Nilen view. the food was not always warm and I got sick one night after dinner (not sure what it was though).
I was not fond of the smoking was aloud at the boat. And the airconditioning was to cold. Not healthy when it is 40 degrees outsiden. In the lugars we could choose ourselves ofcourse.
the program for the attractions and the variety was great. go see it!
Mido was an excellent guide and we shared many fun-filled days with him. He was very flexible as far as what to do and when. All of our questions were answered without hesitation. He is a very knowledgeable guide.
Hamada, too, was extremely helpful, especially in locating our lost luggage. Seeing his smiling face at the airport after a very long day of travel was refreshing.
The bus you provided was very comfortable for our family of 6 and we appreciated the water bottles everyday.
All in all, we were extremely impressed with your services and would be happy to recommend Memphis Tours to anyone considering a trip to Cairo.
Thank you, too, Yosri, for all of your help in organizing this trip. You were great.
Since I had flown directly from Newark, through Frankfurt, I took a day off in between to get some rest and time to explore the hotel.
On the second day, at exactly 8:30 am my guide for the week. Ahmed M. Kamel appreared. From this time forth he was my constant guide as well as the same excellent driver. Ahmed proved to be a huge reservoir of information, not only on ancient Egypt, but also,Arabic culture, art, music, world affairs-you name it-he was well versed in the subject.
I'm not going to bore you with blow by blow descriptions, suffice to say I was treated in an extremely courteous and mannerly stlye that made the trip a true pleasure.
Memphis Tours is extremely flexible and will honor any requests that you might have to make your trip as pleasent and memorable as possible. I highly reccomend using this company.
On the way home, I had a 5:30 am flight fromCairo to Frankfurt. Ahmad was right on time at 3:00 am. He had even gone the extra mile to order me a "To Go" breakfast from the hotel. At the airport, he escored we thourgh passport control and brought me directly to the departure gate.
All in all, a throughly satisfying and memorable experience.
We loved the service because it made our first vacation in Egypt relaxing and worry-free. Our teenaged kids loved the tour guide and found Egyptian history to be a lot of fun. We definitely recommend them to other travelers and would also use their services again.
Everything met our expectations and more!!! We were greeted at the airport by them and provided us with a Cell phone for our private use. The we were walked through the passport office and made sure we had all that we needed. When our tours started they have very new and comfortable vans, private for my family. The Egyptologist (Ashraf) was very kind and knowledgeable throughout the tours. He provided information and gave us time to explore on our own.
I strongly recommend this tour agency Memphis Tours, that went out of its way to make our experinece wonderful in the little time we had in Egypt.
From responing to our initial inquiry through the 'chat' box on their website, to getting back to us countless times, always very quickly, via email, Ayman has been very informative and helpful as we planned the specific trip that my family wanted to have.
We are greatly looking forward to New Years in Egypt and experiencing the trip that Ayman put together with us. Expecting a great time! :)
