The Orient Dahabiya is based on the design of an original Dahabiya from the late 18th and early 19th century. This traditional two-masted boat is about 37m long and 7m wide and has two decks. The Dahabiya is powered by wind. Relying on the river currents and a gentle breeze, this is the traditional way to cruise the Nile. A small river tug can help if the natural elements fail.

Day 1: Saturday
Departure from any address in Luxor to Esna (50km south), home port of the Dahabiya. Embarkation on the Dahabiya for a 5-day cruise along the Nile between Esna and Aswan. Cruise to El Kab, the ancient town of Nekheb, to visit the remains of its temples and some of the tombs cut into the cliffs. Set sail for a small island where the boat will moor for the night. Dinner will be served on board the Dahabiya or on the tranquil banks of the Nile. First night on board.
Day 2: Sunday
Sail for Edfu and visit the temple of Horus, the best-preserved of all the temples in Egypt. Set sail for a small island where the boat will moor for the night, later stops will take you to small villages and the desert. Dinner will be served on board the Dahabiya or on the tranquil banks of the Nile. Second night on board.
Day 3: Monday
Sail to Gebel el Silsila and explore the ancient sandstone quarries and rock-cut chapels of Horemheb, Seti I, Ramesses II and Merenptah. The journey up the Nile continues towards the double temple of Haroeris and Sobek in Kom Ombo. Set sail for the island of Maniha, where the Dahabiya will moor for the night. Dinner will be served on board the Dahabiya or on the tranquil banks of the Nile. Third night on board.
Day 4: Tuesday
Sail to Daraw and take a walking tour to the village to visit the markets of Daraw, once the last stop on the famous 40-day desert road between Sudan and Egypt. Sailing continues to the Nubian village of El Koubania, near Aswan. Fourth and last night on board.
Day 5: Wednesday
End of the Dahabiya journey in Aswan after breakfast on board. Transfer to any address in Aswan.
Day 1: Wednesday
Transfer to and embarkation on the Dahabiya for a 3-day cruise along the Nile between Aswan and Esna. The first day’s sailing takes you to a small Nile island for a walk in the countryside. After lunch on board or on the island, continue sailing towards Kom Ombo to visit the double temple of Sobek and Haroeris. Then cruise towards Gebel el-Silsila. First night on board.
Day 2: Thursday
After breakfast visit the rock-cut chapels of Horemheb, Seti I, Ramses II and Merenptah and explore the sandstone quarries at Gebel el-Silsila. The sail continues to Edfu where you can visit the temple of Horus, the best-preserved of all the temples in Egypt. Travel on to a small island where the boat will moor for the night. Dinner will be served on board the Dahabiya or round a campfire on the tranquil banks of the Nile. Second night on board.
Day 3: Friday
Cruise to El Kab, the ancient town of Nekheb, one of the oldest and most significant archaeological sites on the Nile. Visit the remains of its temples and some of the tombs cut into the cliffs. Return to the boat and set sail for Esna. Third and last night on board.
Day 4: Saturday
End of the Dahabiya journey in Esna. After breakfast on board transfer to any address in Luxor.

    Prices are quoted in US Dollars per person per trip and valid through April 30.2013 except during Christmas, New Year & Easter holidays. Single room occupancy is applied for those coming with other and prefer single occupancy. So there will be a different rate for solo traveler.

  • Payment Policy

    Reservations should be made as early as possible to book the desired Egypt tour, spaces will be secured upon receive a deposit of 25 %, and during the Christmas and New Year holidays and tour packages inclusive international airfare the required deposit is 50%. This deposit forms part of your final payment. Deposits can only be made by credit cards, wire transfer and or Western Union

  • Egypt Entry Visa

    You need to have a valid passport at least 6 months beyond your scheduled return date to enter Egypt and you can obtain a visa from the Egyptian Consulate before departure. Also, entry visa is available upon arrival Egypt airports against USD 15 per passport for specific nationalities and need to check before.

  • Sleeper Trains in Egypt

    Sleeper trains are designed and equipped according to a satisfactory standard and quality that was set up by the Egyptian Railway Authority. Sleeper train from Cairo to Aswan is about 14 hours and sleeping train from Luxor to Cairo is about 11 hours.

  • Additional Entry Tickets

    All our Egypt tour packages and programs don't include entrance fees to special archaeological sites such as entering one of the Pyramids inside, to visit the Mummies Room at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, to visit the Solar Boat Museum at the Pyramids area or to enter the Tomb of Tutankhamen at Valley of the Kings in Luxor
